I use this stuff which requires refrigeration. Obviously aloe vera products containing preservatives may not. I expect that would be indicated on the container.I read that only mix containing food grade aloe vera (juice mostly) had to be kept in the fridge. What are the best practices concerning aloe vera conservation?
Do they? I thought they were all alcohol-free.I don't know what the alcohol content is in the Thayers because I use their alcohol free version but they certainly do some with alcohol .
,Thayers Original has alcohol , for a moment I thought I was going mad!Do they? I thought they were all alcohol-free.
The one I like most of all is the Rose Petal, which I think is available only as alcohol-free. I could always spike it with vodka or gin, I suppose.
Thayers original witch hazel astringent contains 10% alcohol ..I knew I had seen one with alcohol, so if you want alcohol in your Thayers the Original is the one to go forNo , I am mistaken, I just had a look and can not find any with alcohol although I'm sure they did once. So I'm sorry for my misinformation , my bad!
Yes, it would work just fine, seems a waste to me though, surgical spirits would work just as well.So basically, I could add any cheap vodka to homemade ASL?...
It's ineffective because it's primarily water, not witch hazel extract.I've not had much success with alcohol-free witch hazel. I have a bottle of Thayers Rose Petal and Aloe Vera witch hazel sitting in the back of my bathroom cupboard, but I find it ineffective as an aftershave because it's alcohol-free. I did trying experimenting by adding alcohol to some of it, but the results were unimpressive. I'll leave the witch hazel to my wife and keep some aloe vera gel on hand to treat my sunburn.
