Walk With Frodo

I reckon we should have just given it to an Eagle and ask it to drop it into the volcano on a fly by.
Currently I am about to jump onto Buckleberry Ferry, it seems my watch only takes walking steps into account when calculating the distance, which is a bit of a pain since I have run and trained for 2 half marathons since I started yet it only registers as 112KM completed. Anyway, at this rate it will be done in a year or two. I could start wearing the watch daily and hurry it along, but I may see if there's a way to register other activities with it.

Two years or whatever it takes. I only wish a few more would take on the challenge

Switched over to the gym bike as this colder, wet and windy weather has become more the norm. And because I am a big girl.

I still continue with the previous 1000Km challenge and just coming up to 7500Km on that one.

All this added up to a good annual medical review last week. Blood sugar tests next week which tell the whole story being as this is all about beating the type 2 diabetes I had some 20 months ago.

Got to keep going

400 miles to go. January/February next year I think.

All this for some bloody ring. Lord of the rings never had such a dragged out return home after the Mount Doom episode.

8th December - 30.59Km

Frodo Challenge - 1400.89miles

And nearly at 8000Km on last year's 1K Km challenge.

Oh, and my blood sugars came back good and a year of maintaining not being diabetic type 2 anymore. That really matters as it is this once a year blood test I am actually doing all this for. Not some sodding Hobits.

I still don't know how it's being calculated on my watch. Apparently, I have covered 159 km since the start, even though I do around 50-6km per week.... I just reached Tom Bombadill's gaff. I reckon this slow route will throw the black riders off the scent :geek:
Well done on reversing the diabetes @Satanfriendly that's great to hear.

Thanks Boab.

It is one of the reasons I am quite enthusiastic about these challenges. It all helps keeping my HbA 1c readings on the right side of not being diabetic. I was already signed up to do 60 minutes cycling every day and it just helps having a target.

Nearly at 1500 miles on this one. A mere 300 to go

Frodo Challenge - 1810.21miles
(Completed 28/01/2023)

I am made up as I originally estimated Feb/Mar this year. I had a particularly good November and January (so far) is looking good.

I still continue with the previous challenge of 1000Km and just coming towards 9000Km at the moment. I have decided to make this a 'round the world challenge' and need a total of 40,075Km. I reckon another 4 years at least. Great, bring it on.

@Boab Many thanks again for starting this one and I wish I could express what this has done towards keeping my past diabetes type 2 at bay. (y)

A photo of where this 'walk with Frodo' thing started and ended. Crosby beach

Fuck. I have just realised I left the house keys back at Mount Doom so I will just have to do it all again.
