Yesterday I bought this vintage razor on B&B. Does anyone know when was made more or less? Thanks.

I honestly don't know, might be worth contacting Merkur directly.

Can you tell me what sort of finish that is on the handle?

Is it a very fine knurl, a coating or something else?
 
Look for posts by "Chessman" over at B&B.

He was the fella who had about 100 of these razors and there are a lot of threads which give some info on them.

That looks like an open comb rather than a slant ...but very nice.

Is anyone here bidding for it before I think about putting in a bid?
 
The coating is EPNS - (Electro-Plated Nickel Silver) over a brass engine turned handle and zinc based head - which can corrode so keep it clean

Keith, there is no problem with posting links up,sometimes someone may already be watching and will ask for it to be removed but it is rare.
