Valet Autostrop Blades

I bought a barbers hone from ebay which came with three Valet autostrops. I was hoping they would take a modified gem blade with the spine off. They won't. They have notches for blades with "VALET" cut thought them.

I've seen some nos blades on US ebay, is this the only option?

I thought I saw a video on YouTube with someone cutting holes in a double edge blade to fit.……..I think !

Puching/cutting holes in SE with spine removed. You can use the real blade as a guide to mark out the punch area. I don't have the link but I think it was fairly search friendly.

Is it this

Thanks guys.

I've seen Dave's vids but they seem to be for a different autostrop.

The above seems to say I need the valet on the left for modified se's, I've got three which have little sticky out bits on the baseplate which fit into the 'valet' lettering on the blade.

Thats the problem with the Valets,i had the idea of filing the notches down on the razor but someone on B&B said not to,plus i realised if you did then the blade simply wouldnt hold and would just fall out.
Those Valet blades can be hard to come by,the one where you can clip the SE blade is one from before something like 1925,i think they may have changed the design to make sure they could sell blades to people and not just the razor.
Good idea at the time but shit now for us that own a Valet Auto Strop :x
