Using a shavette...

Injector blades can be used, I believe there might be an insert for the Dovo Shavette, and a former Personna licensed Mr C or Monsieur Charles, which is long discontinued. There maybe others...

By the way, it's pronounced shayvetta phoneticly.

To avoid mistakes and for those who want to start with a shavette and practise, there is this Chinese full-blade shavette with protection.
Easy to use, gentle on the skin and quite inexpensive.

It is available for around £14 with shipping on Aliexpress.

For the last 3 or 4 Christmas's, I have been in Boots for something or other and have noticed the Wilkinson Sword Shavette ("Classic razor" or something ) that always appears on their shelves at that time of year .

I always look at it and think "Oooh", then remember the Shavette horror stories I have read and think "Nah ..."

If I was to go down the straight route, I think I would want something with a long and heavy disposition , rather than half a DE blade.

I understand if I was to use a shaver I would not want to mess with a single edge 1/2 double edge blade due to most of those shavers being a PTA to put a new blade in correctly. I would look at one of the straight razors that uses a full modern double edge blade that is not a safety razor of any kind, like shown below.

They should’ve call it safety shavette for training wheels straight or shavette shavers.

Which of these two?

There are lots of shavettes that use the entire DE blade.

I've always wanted a Weck razor, and I finally found a fairly inexpensive one for sale in a German beauty supply shop, for about €25, including a pack of Kismet blades.
I think I'll go ahead and buy it, as Kismet blades are hard to find and expensive. I think Nikky Platinum blades would work well, or Fromm and Personna blades for hair shapers razor.
