Used lapping film for 1st time

Billy - Are these sheets a one and done thing, or can they be used multiple times? Do you use them only following stones, or do you use them as a standalone refresh? Thanks.

There is About 3 Strips in Each Sheet..It Can Hone More than a Few Razors..Lapping Film Can Be Used Multiple Times..Oh Yeah..Lapping Film Can be Used as a Full Progression..15, 12, 9, 5, 3, 1 Micron...15 Micron Is Fine for Bevel Setting But it Gets the Most Wear..A Naniwa 1 K Stone is Preferable for Bevel Setting then 12, 9, 5, 3, 1 Micron Finish...You Can Finish on 3 Micron which is 12 K Grit..

Thanks! [emoji1] This is all pretty new to me, so I am asking a ton of questions.

Lapping Film is Great for Honing SRs..Its a Similar Edge to Naniwa Super Stones..I Would However Strongly Suggest a Naniwa 1 K Pro Stone for Bevel Setting..Around 90 % of the Learning Curve Learning to Hone SRs is On the 1 K Bevel Hone..

Once the Bevel Work is Done the Progression is More or Less a Formality & Lapping Film Works Well..

I just ran one over 1K: 50 sets on a freshly honed (one shave on it) razor. That is the quick ticket right there. Thanks.

I built a little base out of two pieces of the heavy plastic they use in hockey glass. Cut them off 3x8" with my dremel tool and superglued them together. Some little rubber feet I found in my junk drawer and a strip of duct tape around the outside edge until I can take it to the shop and grind off the rough edges, (that stuff is HARD) and it works great.

Good job.

Agree, nice job. I have a big old granite tile, but no lapping film yet, it's been used to put wet and dry on to lap my stones so far!
