Always interested in anything nasty about to hit Cornwall, had some blowy weather last couple of days with rain, always worried about high seas and heavy rain. Thank you Chris, Paul. Thanks Johnny. I wouldn't expect much in the way of contribution. Though I'm far from being an expert - over on the meteorology forum I frequent I'm considered a bit of an ignoramus - I anticipate that I might be able to use what little I understand on the subject to assist TSR members. My thought was mainly that I could disseminate warnings and attempt to answer (simple) questions.

The wind has dropped but near constant rain, was really gusty Sunday night ,thought my garden fence was going over! Thanks Blade. How was last night for you as opposed to Sunday night? On the weather forum I frequent, there was much discussion of why Sunday night's low pressure was a named storm, while last night's wasn't. It's a joint Met Office/Irish Met decision AFAIK, though each uses different criteria when the storm affects only them rather than both.
Whenever you have the time or the inclination to do so would be great. Thank you.Sounds as though there is some interest. For now, I'll continue occasional posts in this thread.
Thanks Blade. For now, I'll mention that free rain/precipitation radars are readily available online to help determine whether a waterproof coat is necessary or anything else that is dependent on whether there's rain in the area, for that matter. Raintoday is a good one, though, if you're prepared to spend some money, Netweather's latest radar has a very fine 500 metre resolution, precipitation type (rain, snow or a mix), lightning overlays etc. I have a subscription with them that includes radar, and they operate the forum I post in, so I have some links to them, but only as a customer/forum member. For reasonably accurate lightning trackers with only a few seconds' delay, I highly recommend the free site lightningmaps.org.Whenever you have the time or the inclination to do so would be great. Thank you.
Clear bright days, cold cold nights! Thank youLatest forecast for the UK suggests High pressure remaining over or near the country for the next 5-7 days at least. Cloud amounts are likely to increase from Wednesday onwards, but it should remain mainly dry. Frosty and fog could be a problem early - caution needed on the drive to work.
Where are you referring to? Congratulations BTW!What's the forecast for Saturday, Chris? Will I need the 35 white golf umbrellas I've hired for our wedding day or should I chalk the rental cost up as a sacrifice to appease the weather gods?!
