Trimming my bristle

I received an Omega boar in a brush exchange, I've done a few test lathers, nothing to write here about.

It will probably be consigned to keyboard cleaning duties but I was wondering if I trimmed the loft down a little to stop it from splaying so much,
do you thing the bristles would split again at the tips?
It might make it more usable? All thoughts considered.

I have an old no name boar brush which has been partially pruned by a previous owner. If this is anything to go by, unfortunately the trimmed ends don't split. I like the idea though as it was quickly apparent to me that the Omega 49 could do with losing maybe 3/8" of loft.
