Treet Black Beauty

Hiya,

I tried those blades maybe two years ago or so. At the time, Michael (Leisureguy) was posting about how much he liked those things, so I included a pack when I was ordering other items.

Man, those were nasty little bastards. The first WTG stroke told me this was gonna be a bad one. Tried 1-2 more strokes and dumped the blade. Heh, I even tried another blade, just to make sure the first one wasn't defective. Whew, those would make for a rough road.

It's truly amazing to me that so many members like the Black Beauty. As Michael recently mentioned to me, they're very much a hit or miss blade...... a love em or hate em sorta thing. They about kilt me.

If I had only that blade available to me, I'd go back to the injectors...............

Alcohol is available at any chemist/pharmacy, just get some 70% or 90% alcohol for medical purposes. It stops the blade from rusting to quickly, no effect on the sharpness.

Would you be so kind as to pop into the "welcome forum" over here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://theshavingroom.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=23" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://theshavingroom.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=23</a><!-- m --> ?

Cheers,

Max

Thanks. I'll have to pop in and have a look.
I've added a new post in the welcome forum. Sorry, I'm new to forum etiquette (whatever the plural of forum is: forums, fora?) and guessed you wanted me to say hello, which is fair enough.

By the way, I tried the black beauties and was surprised. They seem to remove almost no hair for me whatsoever despite 7 or 8 passes (WTG, XTG). I can even do ATG on my neck which is almost impossible for me as I have sensitive skin; yet these blades cause no soreness and only a mild amount of redness. If they were only better at cutting hair for me I would stock up on these very cheap blades and pronounce them my new favourite.
Still glad I tried them.

Blimey, a site that stocks the whole Speick range. Maybe one of our UK vendors could have a look at doing this....
