Milhojas? Looks amazing! My Sis brings back Alfajores from Argentina whenever she goes and they are spiffing. She brought a tub of Dulce de Leche back as well which was TO DIE FOR!

Cakewise I'm a sucker for homemade ones and really finding it hard to pick one, I love a good fruit cake from black to blond.

I've just rediscovered clootie dumpling after my Mum (86) made one for my uncle (82) on St. Andrew's Day, his birthday. It's now in my top 3. As for the other 2, I'll have to do some serious tasting

Hard to beat a custard pie. Maybe a really dense fruit cake if it's serious.

FOR EATING

Does Pavlova count as a cake? Heaps of fresh fruit, cream & meringue. Mmmmm.

If that's not allowed, Pavlova sponge: a Pavlova sat on top of a Victoria sponge. No-one can say that's not a cake!
