The Ever Ready " Jewel " exists !!

There has been much talk about the existence of an ER Chrome Plated Razor called the"Jewel", most people call it a "Streamline". However , ER marketed that Razor under different names in different cases.
1 Double Clamshell box- Chrome Plated Razor/ Stropper set
2. Single Clamshell box - "Streamline"
3. Flat Lock Box- "Ambassador "

The name "Jewel" has been attributed to one in a Metal Box made by Gem , but some including myself have one in a Metal Box which we think is a "Jewel ", but we have no proof, until now

A very Lucky chap has got hold of - an ER " Jewel'" in its original packaging.

 
So any Streamline in a metal box is a Jewel?

Hi Paul,
Basically the Razor is an Ever Ready Chrome Plated Single Edge Razor, which was given different names
by ER when sold in different cases. The one in the Metal Box is called a " Jewel ". I have passed one on, but still have one. Used a " Streamline" from a clamshell box for SOTD this morning.

While on GEM, or "Gem" as it is with the Jewel, these are also British made despite the brand usually being made in the US. I believe the Gem Jewel was for the Australian & Canadian markets. That seems to be where the other British made Gem/GEM razors are most often spotted as the country of sale.

That's how I understand it ... in the clamshell, it's the Streamline and in the rectangular coloured plastic case, the Ambassador.

Just a Streamline - same actual razor.

Ha ! It becomes an Ever Ready Chrome Plated Single Edge Razor of no value whatsoever, so I will take it off your hands to make up the Razor deficiency in an otherwise minty Double Clamshell Set .
