Hi all,

Quick question... What do people think of the TFS Classic cream / soap? I've seen it used by shavers on the site and it seems to be very good value.

Also second thing - it's available in larger blocks like Cella is. How do you store these kinds of blocks best and how long do they last?

Just looking for some personal experiences.

Thanks. I have to admit that's another brand which caught my eye for cost effectiveness with how well people speak of it and the number of times you see it in SOTD
 
Damn good stuff!

Across the Italian brands, you'll find TFS make for all and sundry ... and collaborate with other celebrated Italian soap makers. This rosso tub is the one to get. Like it, get a kilo brick for only three or four times the price of that little tub.

Many will immediately say Cella if you ask for the defacto Italian soap, but for the discerning fellow ... we'd say TFS. If you get the bug for Italian soaps, do check out Saponificio Bignoli Antica Ricetta and if you can find the now discontinued Vitos (especially the green pack Supercrema, IMO) you'll be in for a treat.

I decant what will fit into a re-purposed shaving soap tub, and wrap the rest in clingfilm.
Cella and the discontinued Vitos is/was sold as 1 kilogram, but that was a lie. The packets say 1000ml, which is 850 gram. Many years ago it really was a kilo. Where did you see the TFS cheap?

On La Barbiera the little red tub in the pic above was £2.49 and the slab was £9.99. It seemed like decent value given I’ve seen folks using it for SOTD

I have over half a block of Vitos, both Red and Green. I prefered it to Cella.
I've just ordered a block of TFS. After all, what's money for?
Seriously though, poor people pay through the nose for things - a tuck of blades from a corner shop etc; people with a reserve of money can snap up bargains and ultimately pay less for things, although there is the temptation to buy stuff you don't need.
