One of the nice gentleman across the pond recently popped an old Gold 40's Tech into a jiffy bag for me for only a few bucks. Nothing special no plate on the head but a lovely old thing and one of the razors you are supposed to try. It feels great in the hand the fat handle and knurling are superb.
So gave it couple of shots and thought yeah, too mild for me, just as trailed, a beginner razor, and put it aside.
But had reached a shaving dead end of sorts so watched the mantic59 advanced technique video again and gave the Tech another shot this morning.
And what a delight, slid, blade buffed and j-hooked my way to one of my best ever shaves without fear of the razor biting back - a real technique revelation.
Worth a shot if you feel you've reached a shaving improvement plateau
