Tech Jun(e)kies 2026

Wednesday 3rd June ...

First use of a Tech today in June in my least favourite - the ball end. Despite being knackered and not really up for a shave, I went ahead and enjoyed it regardless thanks to the gear. The brush was first rate as was the soap I paired it with. These two are a fairly formidable pairing to say the least. The Tech did very well also paired with an RK Pro Edge Platinum #1. A new blade for me which really surprised me and gave a shave as good as the Nacet I've been using this week.

Carried on with right hand and right cheek with the shavette. The blade was a Shark #3. Explored a bit further and learnt about the pointy ends on the edge of the blade today. A new lesson :)

Yeah I do, I mentioned you in my last shave. It's one of the sharper Lord blades I have used, I'm not sure if it's sharper than a Silver Star though. I need to try another one of those recently, a blade I really like using.

Ah, my apologies ... I missed that.

I like 'em very much! Probably my favourite of their stainless - it is empirically very sharp indeed, gives good blade feel without feeling uncomfortable given the sharpness and remains consistent across three plus shaves. I liked 'em enough to buy 100.

Cheers for the info Paul. I've been impressed with the blade on it's second shave, I'll pick some more of them at another time.

I had a look at my blade stocks, I have some 100's of some blades I can't ever imagine using. I really need to shift some, to make space for others. Right now, I have around 2-3000 in stock and I think I use a maximum of about 50 a year!

Nothing like a good purge! I've dumped a lot of stuff over the last couple of years following the mantra that if there's something I'd rather be using ... just use that. Stuff that settles to the bottom, get rid.

Yeah I know Paul! Yeah I have to have a cull of a lot of things I no longer use across a number of my hobbies. I have more razors, blades, soaps, brushes, guitars, pedals, you name it - I will have too many of those things in my bedroom.

I'm literally one razor & guitar pedal from being diagnosed from being a collector to being a hoarder!
