I actually get a decent shave from the BIC comfort flex and comfort flex hybrid 3 and 4. The 5 seems to have different blades that really tug
A gentleman shaves every day, in the morning, and when one has an evening dinner engagement, also in the evenings. Standards must be maintained. That is all, as you were.I'm not sure I would contemplate an ATG first pass on 7 days' growth. Ever thought of using a beard trimmer to trim down the growth, then going WTG and XTG - and maybe stopping there? And dropping down to 2 blade carts, not 3?
The fashion of the time. I dislike facial hair of any kind particularly beards, but if I lived before the invention of the safety razor and good sanitary conditions I'd have a full beard.
...I travel with carry-on only so use carts when working away from home. Recently purchased some Gillette Guards on BST. Just superb and this from someone that uses carts grudgingly as much prefer DE...
Technically it's a single blade cartridge razor as opposed to an SE.Guards are often classified with SE's.

In theory, that's true.Technically it's a single blade cartridge razor as opposed to an SE.
I find in practice as well, but I don't like pivot heads. In theory, that's true.
But they behave so much like an SE, that in most people's minds, they're classified as SE's.
I've compared the Metal to the Guard.I find in practice as well, but I don't like pivot heads.
For me, the nearest disposable/cartridge razor to an SE is the Bic Metal.
To each their own. I find the Bic behaves far more like a traditional SE solely because no pressure is needed, unlike the Guard, which like all pivots, requires pressure.I've compared the Metal to the Guard.
I find the Metal tougher to shave with than my DE's.
