Superdrug - Palmolive shave stick

If we stick to shaving soap name a few tallow based worth checking out, a whiff tallow as ingredient does not count

Off the top of my head...

Good hard tallow soaps: Tabac, MWF, Valobra, D.R. Harris

Good soft tallow soaps: P&B & Vitos... There's probably loads more...

Then there is the US artisans such as Grooming Dept. who use tallow from different sources (duck, lamb, beef...)

So my brick of Vitos mixing stearic acid as main ingredient and tallow is still seen as tallow based, no real difference made out there between containing tallow and tallow based I guess, but no big deal, Vitos is a good shaving soap no matter how many cows it took to make it

Do you mean a shaving soap where the first ingredient listed is a tallow based compound? If so the only ones I can think of the hard Valobra soaps, MWF and the Cyril Salter one.

I've tried three Superdrug shops now and none of them have even had an empty space for Palmolive sticks. I guess they are stopping stocking them?

I missed out on all the cheap Palmolive at the time, but just saw some on an un-pricemarked shelf in my local Superdrug. I thought my luck might be in and chucked one in my basket along with the rest of my shopping - only one, it might have come back at the full 49p.

Seventy-five pence! I was so shocked I forgot to tell the girl to take it off. Be careful out there.

European armies will need a shaving stick supplier even if they have squllions of them sitting in a warehouse somewhere so hopefully we should be ok but let's hope no one in the MoD changes the spec to veggie...
