An enjoyable shave with this excellent razor. The edge feels wonderfully smooth after stropping on the Kanayama for the 1st time. Managed the usual dfs-ccs result after 3passes with 2 weepers stopped easily with alum.

Today's shave with this razor was very nice and enjoyable. The edge refreshed on pasted balsa and kanayama strop feels super smooth & keen. Did the kanayama improve the smoothness...mmm? Very interesting...
2.5passes for a dfs/ccs result and 2 micro red spots.

This shave with the razor after going thru the 0.1um hanging pasted balsa and kanayama strop felt really good. Is it a placebo effect because somehow after the kanayama, the edge felt smoother & keener (2 days in a row)? Managed 2.5passes without any red spots for a ccs+/dfs finish.

The Musgo is unscented but a few strokes of a wet brush is all you need to load it. I face lathered for a lovely slick creamy yogurty consistency. It performs really well like the Mogno. 3 passes for DFS+ with one tiny transient red dot. I'm using up the Nivea and as much as it's quite good, when it's gone I'll stick to Bio Oil for all post shave prior to the AS/EdT.

Razor Wade & Butcher 7/8 Steamship Wedge
The shave with this razor after stropping on the Kanayama was very nice! Buttery smooth and comfortable. Some say a wedge is like shaving with an axe but this axe is really gentle I just love hefty razors. 3 enjoyable passes without any issues for a dfs/ccs result.

Excellent CjH! So glad to hear you're using your newly acquired bunch of straights and props to you for jumping in and honing them yourself. I have been using straights for about a year but also did my first hone this week after replying to your post. Very satisfying, although I also picked up a couple of cuts which might not have happened with my other straights.

A good satisfactory shave from this razor. Stropped on Kanayama, the edge is very smooth and comfortable. Efficiency still required skill improvement. Tried too hard and resulted in 3 micro red spots in 3passes for a dfs-ccs result.
