Another long work trip. For the first time, brought a few of my fav SRs
Razor Friedr Herder Abr. Sohn 77
My first travel true SR shave! Brought 5 for this long trip and started with this excellent razor with a smooth and comfortable edge. 3passes for an acceptable ccs result with 2 micro red spots. Really enjoyed the experience...SR shaving on the road!

Nice razor Richard. My next straight needs to be a heavy grind old Sheffield, preferably English toe or barber's notch, as all mine are extra hollow and either round or square points. I can't justify any more the same, even if a desirable Heljestrand or Japanese, both of which have tempted me lately. I have to try a bit of heavy British vintage steel, even if I ultimately end up reaching for the 5/8 rp extra hollow most of the time.

Hey, much thanks for your comments! I do agree to get an old Sheffield, especially the heavy grind types...it is necessary for the stable. I patiently hunted for it and now am very happy. I have 2 Japanese and that scratches the itch but would love a Heljestrand...ideal is the frame back but it is hard to find a good one that's affordable for me. I recently acquired an old french frame back and now waiting for it...
Somehow I just love the heavier grinds...:LOL::LOL:
