Straight razor restoration required

Hi all,

I have a 1940 dovo straight that is a little worse for wear.

I tried some years ago to fix it up when I was a poor student.

It has a really nasty red set of plastic scales, I'd really like it polished up, honed and to upgrade it to a nice set of wood scales.

With work commitments these days I don't really have the time or equipment to do a really nice job, can anyone recommend someone who carries out this kind of work? I seem to remember years ago someone call Celtic Something that did this kind of thing.

Any help would be much appreciated.
 
"John June" (Stephen) of JJShaves.com is the first person who springs to mind who does it for a living, nice work at reasonable prices. If you use Facebook or Instagram you can see his work. He restores and hones straights and DE/SE etc including alignment and plating of DEs etc and all things SR.

There are others of course but he's the only one I have dealt with.
