Just scored this one today. It is in lovely condition with no plating loss - Looks hardly used !
Case has the bottom inner lining missing.
Will hopefully be trying it out tonight with a Gem blade purchased from Connaught.
Perhaps an expert could give me a bit of info on this particular model, as I am quite intrigued with the very close similarity to the Damaskeene that I have ? (photos below )
The basic layout is very similar and the handle is identical.
Was this Star copied from the Damaskeene pattern and does anyone know when it was first made and is it an actual member of the 1912 family ?
Just something of interest, in the first photo, what looks like scratches across and under the lettering appears to be some form of ghost lettering under the plating ?

That Model was One of the Early Brooklyn So Called New Improved 1912s..The Same as the Gem Version..Made in the USA..It has a Damaskeene Round Type Head with a New Improved Frame..Post 1930 Star 1912s were Made in the Ever Ready Plant in England for French Export although Different Again form this Model..
