St Charles

I've used the Oakmoss and Lavendula, I don't know if it's me or my water (very hard), but I find it a little difficult to whip up a good lather. It is a very good cream though, very protective, nice aroma. However, I believe there are better options when considering the cost; Sharon's 'Exotic' is terrific, far easier to lather. Also, I'd say Taylors Rose, Trumpers Violet, Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad and J&E Atkinsons I Coloniali (labeled cream but actually a soap) are all superb and easier to shave with - in my humble opinion, of course YMMV as they say!
Having said all that I would like to try their Bleached Wood soap, sounds interesting! Though it's always out of stock at Traditional Shaving.

I have only seen it on the traditional shaving site in the UK, they also have Mama bears.

Not tried it myself, personally my next on the "hitlist" is the SRD Rose and some Fitjar.

yes Mama Bears always gets rave reviews, I find the cost over here though too prohibitive! :( Maybe I'll treat myself one day! :D Ahh, so many wonderful creams and soaps to try

Sorry to revive an older thread, but just seen it.

I have the St Charles Sun-Bleached Wood and the Mint Chocolate. In terms of lather-a-bility, they're not as good as the TOBS creams, which is the only cream that I have to compare them to. It's certainly not as forgiving as TOBS if you get the water/cream ratio slightly wrong.

However, when you do get the ratio right, the lather is quite good. It's quite slick and cushioning, and does a decent job. In terms of scent, the sun-bleached wood is exactly as you'd expect - the scent of wood that has been washed up on a tropical beach. It's not too strong to compete with any A/S or cologne you'd want to use, but it's noticeable. The minted chocolate is a bit more powerful, and you'd be looking for a menthol A/S to go along with it. It's a nice novelty scent, but it may be too much for some people, myself included, to use on a very regular basis. My girlfriend loves it though, especially combined with Lynx Dark Temptation!
