I believe @Fox does a balm of it, too!Wickhams Classic 24 is a 50's barber shop scent and it smells amazing think they only do a soap in it but the fine platinum is very close in scent
Not personally, I've heard it doesn't smell like the soap which is almond/marzipan scented. Another brain wave for 'barbershop' would be along the lines of Floid's splashes. Can be picked up pretty cheaply and smell powdery/citrus. I'd assume an acquired taste but well received on here. Though I've never tried it, Floid Black is meant to be the 'best smelling' of the bunch, though the Suave and Mentolado Vigoroso are both great in my opinion. Will check that out too. Someone mentioned Cella to me but I've not heard of that either, any experience with it at all?
I understand what you mean; The Blue aftershaves that I mentioned in my first post are high on alcohol content, most of them contains Menthol and inexpensive so they are designed to be used plenty, they are refreshing and cooling. The only disadvantage of these aftershaves the scent won't last long, approximately 3 maximum depending your skin. Mennen skinbracer and proraso green are very cooling and refreshing as well. You're right and maybe barbershop was the wrong description but I honestly don't know of a better term. I meant a fresh scent, almost soapy perhaps. Imperial leather was always a favourite and I've seen a couple of other 'leather' aftershaves that might go on the list.
Really appreciate the help, thanks
Small update on this - I've now tried the Speik 'active' and found that a real delight to use. Not the classic barbershop scent at all but a really nice fresh smell and with Speiks great skin conditioning. Also got a few sachet samples of other products with it so will give the shave cream a try very soon
The Cella is very nice. Doesn't smell of almonds at all. Just very fresh with a hint of powder. For the price it's not at all bad. Will check that out too. Someone mentioned Cella to me but I've not heard of that either, any experience with it at all?
