Saturday morning shave…

And boy it didn’t disappoint. This is the best shave I have had while on holiday. It’s always hard with different water and limited stuff when you fancy a change. You’ve probably noticed I’ve been on a very small rotation of stuff. The Rockwell razor is I think now my best razor by a tiny margin over the Merkur 34C. The 3rd plate seems to give me a lovely clean shave. A new blade for me today - the Treet Classic - and boy do these guys make good blades. I need a small base stash of these in addition to some of my other favourite Treets. A really smooth and forgiving blade which lets you focus on enjoying your shave.

The Cella Aloe Vera should be sold in kilogramme blocks. It’s every bit as good as the red Cella for me and if I’m deadly honest my clear preference. A wonderful soap with a great scent and great performance at an excellent price at cost to performance ratio. Borrowed some moisturiser off the Mrs as the water here is drying out my skin badly and then found out its price! Will probably stick to mine next time!

Thoughts from the shave…

Buy the blade - Treet are so undervalued…
Buy the soap

Enjoyed that a lot…

Tweaked up my photo to try and add some change to my pics for the site.

Music for today’s shave came from Ludovico Einaudi - I giorni. Hope I’ve spelt that correctly. A lovely piano piece. Link below as the videos are hit and miss for embedding.

Brush: Simpsons Chubby 3 Manchurian
Soap: Phoenix and Beau: Baskerville
Post: Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

pulled out the BIG GUNS for this shave.. and it was the 1st outing with the 1.55. The shave itself was incredibly smooth for the most part, and in no way did it ever feel intimidating, with no mishaps or drama, although there were a couple of times when it felt a little 'less comfortable'. I'm definitely looking forward to getting accustomed to this plate on future shaves. yeah, very happy with that..

Although these blades don't always fit my Oren the ones that do are decent. Not as thick or sharp as the various Feathers but also, for me, less likely to cut or irritate me.

Picked up a Dalvey shaving brush, compared it to my M7 , no contest, the Dalvey is a sparse scrubby mess, also decided the above Gillette Platinum isn’t the best either .

MDC Fougere - not sure if it’s the brush, soap or Bolzano blade or even the toggle on setting 5 , haven’t seen so much of my blood in a long time ( the Emperor 3 does need reknotted as it’s a jagfest and showing its age .

Anyways onwards to tomorrow.

Good morning guys it’s always interesting and need to see all the different types of brushes and razors that are out there. It’s pleasing and exciting to see that there’s wide variety of razors for wide variety of people and it’s because each razor has its own personality and attitude. Some razors are friendly and mild and do a good job and there’s some that are super mean like the R41
The knights helmet is another mean machine when it comes to safety razors and there’s quite a few other ones that are just like that, but I hope everybody has a great day and it’s Monday here and a chance of rain today. I hope everybody has a good day today

Hello, I'll stop harping on but I do think there should just be 1 place to post SOTDs - either the weekly one as is, this new quarterly one or just one that runs indefinitely. Personally I don't like the idea of having to look in multiple places for the same type of SOTD. It works having a different one for SE of the day but it's discombobulating (for me anyway) to have 2 SOTDs that serve exactly the same purpose running alongside each other. It seems the consensus is let them both run and then see what happens?
