Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Cien Men Kenya Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Omega 10066 Boar.
Face & Head Lather.
Lather: La Toja shave stick.
Blade: GEM coated. (D1)
Razor: Gem Micromatic. (OC) 1930

Post:
Cold water Face & Head wash with brush squeezing's, cold water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse/Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./ Repara Moisturising Lotion./ La Toja ASL.

My September focus I will be using my vintage SE razors for my face shaves and will be using the "Indian made Trac-II clone" Gallant II platinum cartridge razor for my head/dome shaves.

As it's been quite some time since I used the Gem PTFE coated blades, and I forgot how much audio feedback you get from them. The rigidity of them makes them feel sharp & efficient.

The GEM Micromatic (OC). is the most assertive of all my vintage SE razors, I have read in many shaving forums that the shaving characteristics you get from the GEM Micromatic (OC). replicates that of a straight razor.

As with any razor shaving confidence, a light touch, & good technique are the key to a comfortable close shave especially the GEM Micromatic (OC).

The La Toja shave stick has a good slickness & post shave I really like the fragrance of this shave stick, it's fresh clean scent reminds me of dove bar soap with a masculine edge to it.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of La Toja ASL.

My face is feeling smooth, & smelling divine.;)

Its always a pleasure to use the Lambda Athena, a true work of art.
I found a Timor blade in my blade dispenser where i keep any blade tuck stragglers, i have also ordered a few Badger knots to upgrade a few of the Synth's i have, i am really enjoying my badger brushes lately.

I've been using a safety razor only since mid-May of this year and having discovered that with my combination of sensitive skin and swirly, relatively heavy hair growth, the more efficient a razor is, the better the results are for me. As a result, I've become somewhat of an "aggression junkie": my daily driver is an OliWorks Aluminum M3teorite with the third plate (Gap: 1.016mm, Exp: 0.20574mm), but I've been searching for even more aggressive razors. Last week, two heads I ordered off of AliExpress arrived, a Yaqi Telstar (Gap: 1.15mm) and a Yaqi Top Aggressive Slant.

I've been excitedly waiting for enough growth to try the new Yaqi Top Aggressive head and it being a holiday in the US, it was a great opportunity for a slow, careful shave with what some people have called the most aggressive razor available. Fortunately I had done my homework, so I knew in advance to hold it at a more acute angle than normal, 10 to 20 degrees instead of the normal 30. The noise that the blade makes was louder than I had ever experienced, which makes it even more intimidating to use than its reputation already does. After the first WTG pass, I had a perfectly acceptable shave. After the second XTG/ATG pass, I had a very acceptable DFS+. I then lathered up a third time and did some cleanup in the few places that I could still feel a bit of roughness.

After rinsing off, I had two small weepers, both in places that I tend to bleed often. They were a small price to pay, though, for perhaps the closest shave that I have ever had with a safety razor thus far, and with a middling blade at that. I can't imagine using it on a regular basis, but it's not only a thrill to use, the results are spectacular.
