Mon 9 June

Al-Jamal Soap

Fatip Lo Storto Originale
Vi-John Platinum
Highlander Bog Oak & Butterscotch Boar
Ariana & Evans Cuban Highball

TGS Witch Hazel & Cucumber
Noxzema Balsamo Dopobarba
4711 Cologne

I normally get only 2 shaves per blade, but I could tell this could probably have been pushed for another - I’m impressed! Very good in the slant

Working through the A&E - as mentioned by @John54 i too find that too much scent is used. Great performer & good post shave though.

Now that was a nice shave, the razor is really nice to use, i repaired the handle a while back replacing the cracked tubing with a piece of new brass tubing, it really polished up a treat.
I used the Arko stick crayon style rubbing on the face it until i had a thin layer covering the stubble, using the tip dipped, reknotted Culmak i set away building the lather, this knot is fantastic and i had more than enough lather in no time at all. 2 passes and some touch up have left me with a close comfortable BBS finish.
The post shave routine was finished off with a good splash of vintage 4711 which i find is a nice match for the Arko.
Enjoy your day all.

Who couldn’t make a great lather with Phoenix Artisans CK-6 soap. Well me. The Semogue did its usual shabby job. I love this brush for it’s looks and feel, but boy does it disappoint in the lather department and life is too short for second rate lather. On the plus side, another close and comfortable shave with the Ikon when I eventually got an adequate lather.

Not entirely sure I wanted to Google 'pipe bomb' online but where does one acquire such a device? (Obvs the shaving container not the pipe bomb ) (y)

New blade this evening. It was rather thin as advertised but as per @NotTheStig spreadsheet, the blade looked like the others which my face was ok with and this came to pass. Rather sharp and alarmingly thin but with the Stirling worked very well. It's a very very good performance shaving soap for sure and definitely helps a beginner like me - as does the legend that is the KCG - surely every beginner's first purchase in my opinion.

Enjoy your evening...
