SOTD: Saturday 4 January - Friday 10 January 2025.

Razor - Rockwell 6S R3
Blade - Gillette Nacet
Brush - Muhle Silvertip fibre
Lather - Arko

Pretty close to faultless. I can’t get over how bloody good the humble Arko stick is.

The Nacets have now been promoted to the happy corner of the shoe box.

In view of the weather, which is enduringly shite… even by Yorkshire standards… we have decided to have two Saturday nights this weekend. Saturday night #1, tonight, we shall have pasta and a bottle of wine. Saturday night #2, which is tomorrow… we shall have more pasta and two bottles of wine, then see where that takes us. Sunday… Masters’ snooker is on the telly… woohoo!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Classic CK, back to the 80’s we go….

Bit of a bugger under the nose

It is the guitar equivalent of a Wilkinson 5 blade razor, in that it has more strings that it actually needs.

Then again if it just had one string could it be called a guitar? And could you shave under the nose with it? I have a banjo string which is exceptionally difficult to get under one's nose.

I used to play banjo once… during my impetuous middle age. Have you ever been on a banjo forum? Like… wow!

Thank you Mr Ripping. Certainly this morning life appears to be on the up again.

I just had to buy it with it being so odd. It certainly plays nicely and with some nice drive to it. Also renovated my son's 7 string left handed Schecter which was a nice challenge. Especially on the set up, but very pleased and spot on

@Satanfriendly Went to see an 82 year old left handed player a few weeks ago at Coop Live. Born down your way. 36 songs played in 2 hours 50 mins! Not bad for his age!

Razor = 1948 Gillette Superspeed
Blade = Vintage Sheffield Special ( 2 )
Brush = Kent P12 30mm Pure Badger
Cream = TOBS Eton College Collection
with matching splash.
Balm = Loccitane Cade
IMG_4290.jpegTerrific 3 pass shave with a wonderful lather.
This cream is a firm favourite in terms of performance & scent its definitely my favourite Tobs.
The Razor is the second Superspeed ever produced from 1948.
i v had it a few years but as usual don’t give it the run out it deserves.
The Brush is a bit of an odd one as iv only ever seen one other,
im unsure if it’s limited edition or old or just quite rare but this one was a NOS,
To be honest i’m not a great fan of pure badger it’s a bit to soft for me but shouldn’t criticise it really.
If any you wonderful person know anything about this brush please get in touch IMG_4291.pngIMG_4292.png
