Arko shaving products have never failed me and have always provided me with good acceptable shaving results. This morning was no exception.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Boots Cucumber Moisturising Lotion.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Its always a privilege to use one of these vintage ladies, today was no exception. Fitted with the Henkel's Wedge the razor was much more comfortable than when using a "modern" GEM blade. I also decided to use the handle Jim @Jayaruh made for it.
I had a wonderful lather today mixed up with the DS synth, as we all know there is no need to soak a synth so a quick dip of the tips, a shake and straight on to the soap for loading, i then tip dip as i go to build up to the consistency i require.
I completed a full 3 pass shave WTG, XTG and ATG for an excellent, comfortable finish.
All in all very nice.
Right then, i am off to pick up my new specs.
Enjoy your day all.

Tuesday 3 December

Not sure why I bought the long handled Merkur, I struggle with the long handled razors especially when shaving under chin and neck. So, not a problem, undaunted, on with a short substitute handle and off we jolly well go. I used Tabac soap decanted into an old Bakelite pot, lathered up nicely with a relatively low cost but slightly rough ToBS badger. The Perma Sharp is still on song so made bbs in an easy and comfortable couple of passes.

Enjoy the day fellas!

Those super long broomstick handles are insane!

Five shaves now with the Platinum Chrome and it's still very sharp. I have overlooked this blade too long. It pairs beautifully with the Mk. 1 Adjustable

Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Gillette Mk. I Adjustable 195 'Fatboy' (1960)
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (Germany)
Brush: Henkverhaar (TSR) badger brush Walnut Silvertip
Lather: Scottish Fine [Shaving] Soap
Aftershave: Puig Brummel aftershave lotion

Razor - Rockwell 2C R3
Blade - Tiger Platinum
Brush - Simpson M6 synthetic
Lather - NSS Moroccan Sands

The Tiger didn’t perform quite as well on the third use… needed a bit of extra polishing. Looking forward to trying this razor out with some other blades. The results are well within acceptable parameters.

I have a bit of an issue with the Nanny’s soap. It’s my favourite soap, but it’s so slick that I end up flinging the brush all over the bathroom. The Rockwell razor has a gnurky handle, so I kept hold of that, but not sure how easy it will be with the Merkur Progress, for example. It may be my fault, though… I’m just beginning to notice that a little bit of this soap goes a long way.
