DSCosmetic green bowl
The Body Shop Maca Root and Aloe cream
Yaqi Cola 22mm synthetic brush
Merkur 34C razor
SuperMax Stainless blade
Homemade splash (witch hazel and essential oils)
Forest Fresh ASL
Nivea Replenishing PSB

Really, really nice shave tonight, close, comfortable, no effort, no problems! The SuperMax blade definitely worked best in the Merkur for me. Something else next time though, back with the Muhle I think. Result was outstanding as well, great feeling and smelling face and neck, all good.

IMG_3640.jpegwell i’m Still in the uk, was meant to be heading for Africa tomorrow but my visa isn’t through so flights now not until Tuesday i won’t hold my breath but as everyday goes by it’s getting nearer to xmas and iv told them i am not spending xmas in Angola i did it last year & not doing it again
well unless they cross my palm with silver lol sorry i mean gold.
Anyway back to the shave and it’s quite a weird soap.
What ever i do i can’t get this soap to lather and that goes for all the Macduffs.
Anyone else have the same problem ??????.
Now its not a problem i had a terrific shave but all i get is a thin pair of soap & i normally have it like meringue with little peaks,
It’s just not happening with this soap.
Saying that it didn’t happen with the last one either or the one iv had for a while Haunted cabin.
Something weird going on.
In a way it reminds me of Trumper soaps but as i say that out loud it doesn’t really.
Trumper soaps will dissipate in front of your eyes where to its credit Macduffs soaps stay the rest of time but it doesn’t whip up.
On the gran scale of things it’s not an issue but it is annoying.
So probably one more shave here before i head off & again another Macduffs
Onwards & Upwards
Stay Safe Boys n Girls

fantastic fourth shave on this blade. it was only just starting to feel plucky on the cleanup after the last pass. I won't risk a fifth. this lord premium razor is milder than the L6 that I have but I still got a completely smooth result. no stubble left in any direction but also not much aftershave sting. the handle is a touch long and light for my liking but the knurling is good and its more acceptable than the L6's long aluminium handle so I won't replace it. still enjoying the scent and performance of the Simpson's cream and the pinaud bay rum aftershave.

I seem to remember I initially couldn't get the sample I tried from the paasaround box to lather well. it was Bad Santa and I adored the tobacco, cherry, whisky, vanilla scent so tried another couple of times. I think what I did was smear it well into a thin layer at the bottom of a bowl and start with a dry brush to make sure it all spread and dissolved well and there were no clumps before adding enough water to lather. keep trying and I'm sure it'll work out because the lather is fantastic once it's dialled in.

Pre - Sainsbury's Luxury Soap Fig and Jasmine
Brush - Silver Birch Brushes - Cocobolo 26mm Silvertip
Soap - Ariana & Evans Pamplemousse
Razor - 7/8 Heinr. Böker "Piccadilly"
Blade - Tony'schin
Post - Cold water Rinse
Balm - Barts Balm Ben Kilbreck - Neroli, Rosemary & Jasmine
A/S - Dior Sauvage
Wk49 (2).jpg
That was a nice shave, the edge on the Böker is super smooth and it sings its head off during the shave.
A face-full of soft kitten like badger whipping up a lovely lather then my 2 pass shave routine for a fine finish.
I did get a little bit of aftershave sting on the throat but nothing major.
Enjoy your day all.

Sunday 1st December
Meteorological start of winter  , but at 12+ degrees today it could be summer :ROFLMAO: , hey ho.
My shave, yes a very close smooth comfortable one. Mid nineteen forties Rotbart Mond Extra. A Gillette type 3 piece oc, even with the ubiquitous hair line crack in the handle and still going strong.
The Omega bristle needs care when applying the soap, like most bristle brushes I use in order not to cause irritation. Get the lather made in the pot not on the face.
Main first pass wtg does most of the stubble heavy lifting and then an atg plus tidy up to finish bbs. The old stock 1959 Perma Sharp still going perfectly.
Now for :coffee:

Have a relaxing day fellas!

I shaved in the late afternoon yesterday so there was less stubble this morning and I wanted something a bit milder. I got this razor for the handle but it turned out to be really light. tried it today with the completely unbranded chinese blades that were included and got a very comfortable shave. a bit more efficient than a real R89/DE89. no tugging or irritation. not the closest result but did the job and it's nice to give the skin a bit of a break sometimes.

Third shave with the Platinum Chrome and this time a day-and-a-half between shaves.
No pre-shave used and I thought the mild Ness of the Sticky and previous use of this blade would mean a drop in sharpness. Not a bit! If anything it worked better in this razor than the Fasan and Schrägschnitt.
I may have to invest in more of these blades. I have eight left!

Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome (Germany)
Brush: Henkverhaar (TSR) badger brush Walnut Silvertip
Lather: Signature Leodis
Aftershave: Puig Brummel aftershave lotion
