What a shave!
Great lather from the Vintage cream, i bowl lathered today and face painted the goodness onto the chin.
The razor does not take current blades as the top cap posts are too thick, therefore, i use the cap from a Merkur 23C, just ensure the blade is sitting correctly and off i went. Very Mild and efficient, i can feel the blade doing its stuff, i find this with these Vintage blades but its so smooth.
I completed 3 full passes for a lovely BBS finish.
A nice post shave routine to close off, all very nice.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.
Yours must not be the Universal.

Mine is the original solid brass Universal version, all correct, as is the Presentation OC.
Myatt blades will fit a Gillette / new razor, although, i cannot really find a usable blade.
Gillette blades do not fit the original Myatts because of the post shape.
The Ally version is later and was probably tweaked to take Gillette style blades as their ship was sinking against the competition - maybe.

Update:-
i read his post fully and noticed -
"I did some careful measuring, a bit of lining up and some "deep" engraving of the blade to fit the pins."

I just use a new top cap.

But that was for this razor which is not a Universal.

Does yours say "Universal on the baseplate? His brass one does not.

Oops, with the site being down I'd forgotten about that.
I did check and you're right mine does not have Universal on the plate.
It does have the Pat number but don't know anything about that or how to check it.
I just know, if a stick a new cap on it, it takes New blade and gives a wonderful shave.
If I don't, to me, its a piece of scrap metal. ;)

I was right!!! (y) If it doesn't say Universal then it's not a Universal and they are the only ones that take regular blades. That was what I was getting at.

Geez!!! :p (y)
