SOTD : Saturday 23rd April - Friday 29th April 2022.

Well where do i start
Pretty much thee worst artisan soap iv had the pleasure of using.
The Soap scent is absolutely top drawer & exactly how i hoped however the soap had zero residual slickness.
A 3 pass shave and my face was bone dry after every pass,
Quite weird considering the price.
I have Fitjar creams and rate them very highly but the soap doesn't cut it.
Obviously iv bought it so will give it another outing but initial thoughts are it’s very disappointing.
Never Mind tomorrow is another day
Stay safe folks
Maybe worth a try to add some glycerin to the soap ? ?

Another use of the Valentia soap and splash. It's just as good as my first impressions. Superb.

I've decided to give the Brit ER Jewel/Streamline a run out, Gem blade fitted, it was cracking and I am sure the head shape acts as an amplifier for the sound of stubble being mowed when it's in certain positions - or, I need to improve my technique with it and be more consistent with the angle.

Happy hump-day (stop your filthy minds, I mean middle of the week )

I think the HFT is the smoothest Vintage Lady i have, she gave a wonderful shave today.

Having just started back to swimming and Gym training this past week (not been for about 7-8 Yrs) and i am feeling it a bit, i do understand this is what happens i just need to keep plugging away until my body remembers what i am doing to it - PS loving retirement at the mo.

Stay safe and enjoy your day all

Back with another milder razor, the Giesen & Forsthoff Timor 1353. This works well with a Feather blade and as with the ASD2, I enjoyed a smooth and effortless shave.

I used Proraso white pre-shave and soap, which is like so many inexpensive, non-artisanal soaps a great lather producer. This time I ran out of lather for my final pass, as my new Semogue Owners Club boar brush is still breaking in. Nonetheless when loaded, it painted very well indeed.

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves!

Razor: Giesen & Forsthoff Timor 1353
Blade: Feather (2)
Soap: Proraso White
Brush: Semogue Owners Club
Pre-shave: Proraso White
Post-shave: None
Bowl: Face lather

Today's SOTD arrives courtesy of the theme 'What no bananas?'

Wot no banana razor? - Stainless General
Wot no banana blade? - Feather Super Professional
Wot no banana brush? - Yaqi Dandelion
Wot no banana soap? - Abbate Y Mantia Krokos
Wot no banana scent? - Abbate Y Mantia Krokos splash

And pleased to say there were no bananas involved in this shave. Because there wasn't any. In the shops.

What there was though, was some very fine accoutrements which resulted in a most excellent banana free shave.

Have wonderful days and I love you all.

And as bonkers as a bunch of elongated yellow fruit. Why, it's those Beaver girls.....
