A reprise of Monday’s shave, but without any of the problems. Loading the brush longer produced a wonderful rich lather, and changing the angle of the razor slightly produced full on R41 mode. A very close and comfortable shave as a result, using a fresh Feather blade. The R41 definitely gives a close shave.

Fuss free, frugal shaves of late.
6C on plate 3 & Silver Blue blade is a dependable and comfortable pairing.

Sadly, recently I seem to be losing my mojo for shaving.
Some shaves have been 4-5 day's apart, with no desire to shave, even then.

The weekend is almost here - enjoy.
it happens it's normal ... stress or mental fatigue.
however they are the best times to save money :)

Friday:
Home, therefore Brit fat handled Tech straight out, still with Nacet blade loaded.

Decided on Signature Britannia, which lathered up with no fuss after a quick 5 sec swirl around using the Proraso boar brush. Easily enough for 3 passes.

Have a great weekend all

A wonderful shave with the Valet VC1 today, mild, comfortable and efficient enough for me.
I am not sure why, however, i get the best Williams lather from this little Vintage Vulfix. Today was no exception and i had plenty of slick, stable lather whipped up in the Pewter bowl on top of the puck, enough for a full 3 pass shave.
Excellent result.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

Well that was a week! I caught bloody Covid 19 and had passed it on to three other people, before I started feeling ill. Thankfully we were all vaccinated and we’ve only experienced mildish symptoms. Thanks again to the scientists and doctors for the vaccine but none to any politicians who claim the credit.

Anyway, I’m recovering and needed a proper shave, so I treated myself to a posh one.

I’m less in fear of the Envoy now. It easily dealt with four days growth but again, on the neck it needed the exact angle and skin pulling to deal with the final remnants of stubble. Other razors seem to manage this area a bit more easily. I think I need to open the angle up, but then that can lead to more blade feel. Anyway I managed it without cuts or nicks.

The Chubby 3 is a behemoth and I could only fit a quarter of the knot into the small opening of the Agrumes. But you only need a couple of swipes to load the brush with enough soap for my three passes. It’s simply brilliant.

So have a good weekend. Enjoy your shaves and don’t catch Covid!

Razor: Rex Envoy
Blade: Israeli Crystal (1)
Soap: MDC Agrumes
Brush: Simpson Chubby 3 BB
Pre-shave: Proraso White
Post-shave: None needed
Bowl: Face lather

Called upon The Evo once more as I neede a foolproof quality Shave, as yet another funeral to attend. Was due to use a Supply but Shaves with it are not that clever , well for me they are not. Cannot remember when I last used it.

It will return. I once grew a full beard through laziness and then thought 'What a dirty load of bollocks this is'.

But in the main, you be well.

'Oh love. Yes. I admit, I am a cock

A great way to end this SOTD week and a welcome back to the Hawk. Top class performance with a great supporting act in the Cadman and MDC. One of those Soaps where the scent lasts further than the bathroom door. Nice one you wonderful Mr Candre.

God knows who these are, but guess it is someone else Mike Smart might want to bang, despite them wearing what looks like cut down wellies. I'm trying to get my head around would I? Being an old sad sod, probably. It's the wellies.

Have wonderful weekends in every way and of course, I love you all.

A very good budget shave today with some interesting items.
The Aftershave i picked up from ebay brand new never opened or so they say,
for all i know someone could have had a hit & piss in the bottle it smells like it lol.
No seriously a very nice fresh scent.
i’m unsure when it came out i’m thinking 80’s but could even be 70’s iv no idea.
The brush was another ebay find.
iv never seen this one for years.
but i do remember seeing them in the supermarket god knows how long.
Agsin it’s brand new and was doing a fair bit of shedding when i first got it but since iv gave it a wash & used it then it hasn’t shed a hair,
i’m actually thinking out loud you’ll probably hear the noise but i might re knot it saying that it’s always nice to leave vintage stuff the way it is unless it needs it.
Just shows you the little bits & pieces we can find on a browse.
