Pre-Dawn Service ANZAC Day shave. Dedicated to my Father - a Grenadier Guard and a great man. He proudly marched on ANZAC day parades for many decades.
On ANZAC Day and Father's Day, I polish his Grenadier cap band. He told me many times that a Guardsman must polish his cap band and other metal fittings twice a day - being found by a superior with anything less than flawless gleaming metal resulted in a mandatory charge. The Queen's Guard are not toy soldiers - they are crack troops with a rich and hard-earned battle history.
Honi soit qui mal y pense
Lest we forget
I'm pleased you enjoyed the shave, what's next.....1924, a 1912 or even a Gem Micro-Matic...so many nice vintage SE razors to try!Badger brush
Ever-ready 1914. As supplied by @Blademonkey . thanks again Paul
Gem blade
MWF soap
TOBS Sandalwood as
Cool looking razor. I just put the blade in, no shim, and closed it up, everything looked to be lined up ok
Lathered up and took first stroke with the head almost touching face. My god this thing is loud.In a good way. And efficient,I would not call it aggressive at all.
I am very smooth. The only tricky bit was under my nose.
I think with a few shaves under my belt this SE just might become my favorite, and possibly my daily shaver.
Just waiting for 200 gem blades to come. as they say in with both feet.
Very happy with razor

Yea why not. I have 7 De razors, if all SE razors shave like this. Very probably. I seen a pic of a 1924 I like it very much with the handle joined to the head directly
Shaving with vintage SE razors has been a real eye opener for me, especially the Gem bladed ones. It's a great path to be on.P.
I have still got a few DEs left just to ring the changes but most are SEs now, I wished I had started with SEs though. My first vintage gem bladed SE was a Ever-Ready 1912 and I was hooked.....SEs for me now!Yea this must be how it works.
Buy loads of DE razors
Discover SE razors.
Get rid of most of the DE razors
Regret getting rid, buy more DE to replace
Go back to SE
ETC ETC
That sounds very familiarMy first vintage gem bladed SE was a Ever-Ready 1912 and I was hooked.....
