Tom - ANZAC day -

'When I was a young man I carried my pack
And I lived the free life of a rover
From the Murray's green basin to the dusty outback
I waltzed my matilda all over
Then in nineteen fifteen my country said son
It's time to stop rambling 'cause there's work to be
Done
So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun
And they sent me away to the war
And the band played Waltzing Matilda
As we sailed away from the quay
And amidst all the tears and the shouts and the
Cheers
We sailed off to Gallipoli.'

excerpt from - Eric Bogle - 'And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda.'

A very poignant piece of prose. My great uncle left Ireland for New Zealand at a very early age When WWI started he joined the Otago Regiment and was shipped to France to die at the Somme at the age of 25

SOTD, Tuesdau 24 April 2018

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap, followed by warm water splash.
Cream - Speick.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2, Synthetic.
Bowl - Little Wren Pottery.
Razor - Rex Ambassador (setting 5 and 3)
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue (Day 3).
Post shave - Cold water splash; followed by OSP Neroli Splash.

A great shave to start off with, very smooth and efficient, as I have come to expect from the Rex Ambassador and the Gillette Silver Blue (my go to DE blade of choice ).

I went for a 3 pass shave - first 2 passes WTG (for a change) with the second pass XTG. The Blade felt a little wierd on the last pass. Post shave cold water and OSP splash applied; nothing out of the usual. However, a few minutes later, looking in the mirror several weepers all over my face. Nothing to write home about - all gone after a splash of water, however, most unusual and puzzling.

Anyway, off to bin the blade, I might try a Kai DE blade tomorrow.

All the best,

Chris

@Digimonkey "Gillette Tech, Wilkinson Sword blades, Palmolive stick, badger brush and Old Spice." that's a set up I'm going to try, at least in the first instance the blade, soap, brush and after shave!

I remember the Saturday night bath; as we got dragged to Church on the Sunday

All the best,

Chris

A wonderful shave from the ER Jewel (Streamline) with a Gem blade.
The Eufros soap is very good indeed in both scent and performance which was whipped up into a superb lather with the fab Omega 011829. A great way to start the day!

Have a great day people...P.
