SOTD: Saturday 20th January - Friday 26th January 2018.

Good to see you rate the Salter cream Paul. I've still not pulled the trigger! Procrastination is my middle name

FIRST EVER SHAVE WITH A FATBOY.
It took me an hour to decide on the soap. I went for OSP as it's fantastic.
BLADE Gillette silver blue.
Setting 5 (lovely and smooth)
POST Thayers medicated (just in case)

I can't believe the quality of the razor.
In 1960 they paid $1.95 for this work of art......I wonder if they knew what they had at the time.....now where's my time machine.
Thanks Paul.

PRE - Shower & almond oil

BRUSH - SOC Boar

SOAP - Portus Cale

RAZOR - ATT SE2

BLADE - Schick Proline

POST - Almond oil & Fine Platinum

Giving the straights a break for the moment and brought out the SE2 with a Schick Proline.

I bought 600 of the Prolines for the shop and they are smoother than smoke through a keyhole!

Much better than any of the Feather's that I have been using for the past few years. They feel more forgiving under the hand if that makes any sense.

The SE2 is an extremely efficient razor that gives very smooth shaves though nothing compares to a straight!!

Good choice of soap J, I'm pleased you are happy P.

The Supermax Blue Diamond Titanium blades, are superb. I have a passion for Parker razors too, they always perform with great efficiency and pair up really well with most of the indian made DE blades, both products give sublime shaves at a very reasonable price. Indian shaving products don't get the credit they rightly deserve. Regards.

Razor: Mongoose (on loan)

I stayed with the Feather Pro but went back to the heavier OSS handle to try and get the best out of the Mongoose graciously loaned to me by @Barry Giddens - cheers Barry it's very much appreciated.
Well I remain unconvinced, I still haven't had a shave as enjoyable to the ones I get from the General.
The end result is the same as the General but more effort and pick ups are required on the jawline and neck of all places, not usually my problem areas.
