Time to give the aluminium SE1 a try after enjoying the stainless steel version.

I've found myself to be a fan of aluminium razors and this one appears to be no exception after the first shave. Very efficient and two days growth taken down in 3 easy passes for a DFS+ finish.

I gave the Shibusa 2 another try today and the scent was much better (not sure how the science of that works) and plenty of lather for the 3 passes. I've decided this one is now a keeper.

Great lather from cream/croap. Thick creamy and slick enough. Nice lemongrass scent. Shave with razor paired with blade was ok...razor & handle feels great but perhaps will try with a different blade. 3 multiple passes with acceptable DFS+ overall results. No weepers nor irritation and that's the ultimate goal. Not gonna chase after full BBS anymore. If it happens good but otherwise not gonna chase. Good post and aftershave. Ice water feels good..Thayers even better, Hyaluronic makes it great and top off with GentsGin..wow! Rating today 9/10

A very nice 3 pass shave today, i have started on the Sample packs i bought when i got back into traditional shaving, all put in the blade dispenser made by @Northam Saint, which works very well by the way (i placed a block of memory foam in to act as a spring). I could be on a year with these.
1st out of the "lucky dip" is the Ladas super stainless.
The Model T is infinitely adjustable and works well for me, although i do enjoy the 6S this is, i believe, a better choice as you can adjust "between" the 6S standard plates to dial in your perfect shave.
I enjoyed the Post shave and the 1912 Citrus Musk is a nice match to the Star Noir soap.
Feeling and Smelling really good.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

Gillette Aristocrat (USA, 1948)

Fine American Blend after shave

I'd toyed with the idea of using a vintage blade in a vintage razor; but wasn't sure. Arthur @Electrif inspired me last week, though.

As I suspected, the blade was that bit rougher than contemporary ones. Not a smooth shave at all. That said, though, it may smooth out over the next shave or three; so I'll stick with it. A DFS shave resulted; albeit with a bit more work required. Question: are these carbon steel blades?

The Capra soap continues to perform very well indeed.
