Superb shave with the Racer blade, these are made by Lord and I suspect this blade is just a rebranded Lord Platinum Class, which is one of my favourite blades. I have a few packs of these but will only buy more if they are cheaper than the Lord Platinum Class.
This begs the questions:The Razor is IMHO v.mild....
Hi Kevin,This begs the questions:
How mild was V1?
Is V2 milder than the Sabre V1?
Cold water's the way forward!!!SOTD: 211217

Prep: Cold Water with Bulldog face wash
Razor: J.A.Henkels Friodor 72.5 (On Loan)
Brush: Stirling Boar
Soap: S.V. 70th Anniversary
Post: Floid Balm
EDT: 4711
To top off my week our boiler has decided to pack in so my only option today is to have a cold water shave.
To be honest I quite enjoyed it.
2 full passes achieved with several touch ups has left me BBS in most places. A couple of nicks to the chin for my troubles but nothing a little alum couldn't sort out. I am really enjoying my voyage with a straight razor and am committed to mastering it. One day.
First use of my newly acquired brush and I am very impressed. The weight and ergonomics of the handle is sublime. I can see a few split hairs already. Really looking forward to the day it is fully broken in.
Soap lathered to a beautiful thick and slick consistency. Scent matches well with the 4711 IMO.
Applied alum and the excellent balm that absorbs really well into the skin after several minutes.
Finished with the lovely fresh 4711.
Enjoy your shaves!
I must be honest that after the initial shock from the freezing cold water here I started to really enjoy it.Cold water's the way forward!!!

Thank you Shaun, it is much appreciated mate.Awesome pic & write up my friend.
Fantastic! They only ran for one yearPS See what I got in acquisitions
I don't know whether it was a coincidence with, say, an improvement in technique; but after about a year of cold water inter-pass face and razor rinsing, I can't remember the last time I got any neck irritation/rash.I must be honest that after the initial shock from the freezing cold water here I started to really enjoy it.
I have no option at the moment but the shave was very good.
It is something I definitely want to pursue.I don't know whether it was a coincidence with, say, an improvement in technique; but after about a year of cold water inter-pass face and razor rinsing, I can't remember the last time I got any neck irritation/rash.
