Men's Grooming Day

Rooney 3/3 Porcelain Finest (26/59)
Penhaligon's Castile shaving cream (vintage)
LASSC BBS-1
Gillette Super Stainless 'Spoiler' (5)
Penhaligon's Castile aftershave (vintage)

A marvelous shave, with John Taverner's Dum transisset Sabbatum, sounding almost like Gregorian chanting, performed by Harry Christophers/The Sixteen on public radio.

I had great shave today with my first run out with my Gillette technical and 3rd use of a nacet blade , Proraso preshave and proraso soap , then Humphreys cucumber and melon witch hazel , polo sport aftershave and Nivea sensitive after shave balm
Technical I thought would be a Mickey Mouse shaver as so light and has a tin like appearance , but appearances can be deceptive and they certainly were with this razor .. nice smooth shave , if you haven't tried one I can certainly recommend it and will use it again on those days when maybe my neck at little on the red side
I was thinking about picking up another one as they are cheap to take on holiday , but is there another vintage model (that's) similar I should consider ?

Are you sure you're not my long lost love child? Good taste is in the DNA you know!

Sorry to hear that Iain, hope you get yourself sorted with a new job soon. We live in very uncertain times. You could always resort to selling Bucky in dim corner of well, just about any street in Glasgow, maybe chuck in a tuck of Shark blades gratis!

Razor: ATT S1 Calypso
Blade: GSB (3)
Brush: Yaqi Chianti
Soap: Stirling Mountain Man
Pre: Proraso Red
ASL: Osma Alum
ASB: LEA

I keep forgetting to take SOTD photos.

The S1 Calypso has left me with a great finish on the past 3 shaves but it lacks the smoothness of the stainless version on the first pass. I'm using a Nacet next to see if a sharper blade can make this a perfect shave.

I've been bouncing between a profound or an amusing statement before realising I could come up with neither for your current situation.

I hope things work out for you mate.

I am sure you will find another avenue for your talented photographic skills.

I had no idea that you were a pro photographer! Why am I not surprised? My comment now seems a little glib, though it was intended to be simply positive at a time when things seem everything but positive. All I can think of now is to say that your current employment might have ended but your obvious talent remains

Yes - indeed - all I need is for someone to pay me for taking pictures of shaving porn. - I
OK, this may seem daft but one of my all-time favourite books is 'The Writer's Desk' by a photographer called Jill krementz. It's a collection of photos of famous writers at their desk with a few lines from each author as annotations. It's what I would call 'writers' porn'.
You just need to find famous people who like wet shaving and ask them to let you take their photo...you could call it 'Shavers' Dens'.
Sounds daft, I know...but I don't think it's been done yet...and I reckon there are loads of celebs who secretly want the world to know about their solid gold Rex Ambassador! (Idea copyright "Greybeard 2020 all rights reserved)

Both pre shave and soap are green variety and as for the love child , I'm a child of the sixty's when anything goes man swinging times
