SOTD : Saturday 15th January-Friday 21st January 2022.

Tonight came curtesy of the theme 'It's fucking toast'

20220120_181955.jpg

Cheese toastie - Razorock Hawk V3
Burnt toast - Schick Proline
Toast master - Razorock 400
I'll toast to that - Menrock Scicilian Lime
Smooth as toast - Nivea moisturiser
Buttered toast - TOBS Eton College
Toaster by Dualit

'I'll toast to that. Any chance of a shag?'
'Is that the best a man can give?'

The last time I was over Yorkshire way I had a shave with this same set up and swore it was probably the best shave I had ever experienced. Oddly I use the same again and the results were exactly the same. Astounding.

Stupidly comfortable, stupidly close and hey, I am stupid. Individually I wouldn't rate any of them as top drawer, but throw them altogether, throw in some of the local water and brilliance happens. A razor I rate as good, but awkward and with a blade I wouldn't usually give a second glance. A brush which does that brush thing, a cheap TK cream and a £1 Coop special offer moisturiser. Good? Fucking super.

So good you can have some more Beaver to see you off this post and this time you can have a video.

And I love you all. Just not to this level

Another new and 1st use Soap! Very nice scent...hmmm..somehow detected some tobacco? The lather was easy to create and it was just creamy and slick enough...
Nice enough shave with the razor but would prefer it to be keener. It'll be put through the full pasted balsa progression next. 3+1passes for a dfs/ccs result. Nice aftershaves.

Prep: Palmolive Olive Oil Soap
Soap: TFS Professional
Brush: 24mm Yaqi Sagrada Familia
Blade: Gillette London Bridge (1)
Post: Bond "Inspired by Whisky" ASL & Balm

Thank Crunchie it's Friday. The setup reminiscent of said confectionery returned to end the working week. The TFS is simply superb, and is the perfect base to let the Whisky duo retain their scents (which do differ significantly) and come together for a lovely finish.

Brush: C&H 'Strata Taper'
Soap: P&B BlueBird
Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Post: P&B BlueBird

Friday at last, both can't come soon enough and also sneaks up on you like a son of a... when you're busy as hell!

Decent enough shave to end the week, I keep trying these Astras every so often and I'm still not getting on with them in the blackbird. The GSBs work perfectly for me so I really shouldn't change a winning formula but I love experimentation!

Hope everyone has a grand day and weekend!

Cheers

Razor: Gem Micromatic
Blade: Gem Blade, 4th use
Brush: Akkawoodnresin Handle And Dscosmetic Bodger Knot
Soap: Arko Stick
Aftershave: William Hunt Oud De Parfum
Balm: Baxter Of California Aftershave Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

Thought I’d try a simple shave today, minus the preshave as I find Arko is always slick enough anyway. I went with the Arko purely to try and hit any lingering funk from the bodger head and it seems to have worked a great. This was arguably my best shave yet with the Micromatic the blade seems to be getting better and better!
Have a great day everyone the weekend is finally here!

As smooth as the Game Changer, but it feels just a little bit closer, the Ikon is a perfectly good razor. Except, I think l have better. A close and comfortable shave, nonetheless.
