You could still use the razor, but how about a really nice brush and cream. Maybe a cream with a cool sounding name which would appeal to the nephew, like BluebearÄs revenge if this is still sround. Or perhaps Meißner whiskey scented soap. Just an idea.
That is one of the soaps I have on my must have list, slicker than a Texas oil spill!Prep: Hot towel
Pre shave: Prep
Razor: Barbaros TR-1
Blade: Astra S/P
Brush: 'The Duke' (Duke 3 Best)
Soap: Grooming Dept: Mallard
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Tallow + Steel: Dark Aftershave
Well, Mallard lived up to the hype, and provided the base for an outstanding shave with the TR-1, a razor that I find to be on the aggressive side of the tracks... BBS, and feeling fine.
How are you liking the Occam razor? What would you compare it to and would you recommend it to us? P.Saturday 13th January 2018Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Body Shop Maca Root face wash and Proraso White

Razor: Occam's
Blade: Feather Pro (#1)
Brush: Maseto 24mm Extra Density 2 Band Finest
Soap: Phoenix & Beau V60 (Prototype Sample)
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Wickhams 1912 Club Cola balm
Only one shave with the Occam so far, but it was a good one. The shave reminds me of the OneBlade CORE v2 but with a bigger blade, maybe it is the floating blade, there is very little blade feel. I used the 2 dot plate (it comes with a 1 and 3 plate as well) and while I would not call it aggressive it seems efficient and it did leave some minor irritation in a few places. The head is pretty big width wise and and for the most part it is OK but lower part of the guard possibly extends too much so under the nose needed some extra work. This was probably the cause of the irritation. I think a few more shaves are in order before I would make any recommendations, but it certainly gave a decent shave. How are you liking the Occam razor? Thank you, it will be interesting to hear your feelings after you have had more shaves with it, I'm sorry I didn't realise it was your maiden shave with it. I hope it works out for you.Only one shave with the Occam so far, but it was a good one. I got this razor as it seemed a bit different and it intrigued me, when one came up on a BST at the right price I decided to take a punt and so far I am very pleased. It seems very well made but the screws could be lost easily, just as well it comes with 2 spare screws. That said I suspect once I find the plate that suits me I will likely stick with it and it seems easy enough to clean without taking it apart.
