Thought I would let you know your picture is not visible in the UK….
I guess Old Spice is considered a 'drug' there.

You need more chest protection...
What a very appropriate evening for Mr Friendly to reappear. And the excuse this time? I somehow managed to go ill again.
But shit, did I enjoy a whole 2 days in bed. The last time I did that was when I was 18 after a night in one of these dodgy bars in some port I visited. Probably in Brazil. Take heed Mr Smart. A graveyard to good marriages. Even if I wasn't at the time.
Ill or not, I still managed to shave as I am true to my smooth, if ragged ageing face.
And so here they are some photos of this past week's efforts and the usual semi-quippy garbage I write
Some day or other

Must have been a great shave as I don't do rubbish

'Oh sod off Casper. You are just too damn quaint for my shaves'
And another day

'That's good enough for me. The return of Mr Friendly, I'm gone'
Another day. Another shave

An odd one this. Most of us will get the occasional nick or the odd weeper, but how many cam lay claim to slashing their chest?
Mid shave I dropped the razor and with great instinct and dexterity I tried to catch the Mongoose before it hit the sink. And what a great catch as I drew it close in to my chest...blade first. A real fucking 'Ouch!' Moment. And if you ever do something equally as stupid, styptic pencils will certainly bring tears to your eyes.
A good shave? Amazingly, yes
'You bloody clown shoes!'
And today day

Yes, damn fine
Now to go scare the Halloween crowd off my doorstep and eat all the sweets Mrs Satanfriendly made me buy for them
And time to sign off, but not before you've had a shot of Puffyshoes. And one with some simple lyrics for @Mark12

Gabri Shaving Soap & Ever-Ready 800 Lucite w/Tuxedo Synthetic 26mm
Souplex (Open Comb) Safety Razor & Lion Stainless (3)
DR Harris Mayfair Toilet Water (as Aftershave)
Happy Halloween y'all ...
Wheeling out my recently re-acquired Souplex open-comb for another run. It must be a decade since I had, used and sold this razor and having used it, I'm glad to say I have one back in the fold. I don't know what that @Gairdner was on about saying he ended up like Mason Verger coz it's a smooth run on my face. Sure, it has some blade exposure so if you put the comb to your face there's a slightly worrying moment you think the blade might beach into your skin, like how you'd go at it under your nose, but if you perform the main shave taking your angle from the cap it's all good.
Much thanks to @Pontormo for gifting me a tub of this Gabri shaving soap. It's been something I've had in and out of wishlists and baskets for some time but never quite got the whim to check it out. Thanks David! I really like it! I think it was @NotTheStig who summarised it as just Derby without the tallow, but I'd like to re-use those words and phrase it as: it's NOT just Derby without the tallow. It is a non-tallow Turkish soap and very much in the same vein as Derby and Arko, what with that heavily industrial/contract citrus scent and this one lathers up wonderfully! Wonderfully! Dare I say, almost as good as mid-2010s British hard soaps.
Certainly a slightly different lather to Derby ...
... and actually a slightly different scent to Derby.
On that, it's this soap that I think reveals what the likes of these Turkish soaps are going after in the scent department. After much sniffing, I am convinced it's Orange Blossom. It's a heavy citrus scent and certainly floral, dark floral. I like this one a lot! I've gone back to my open Derby and Arko for another sniff in light of this olfactory revelation and I think I've nailed it. Orange Blossom.
