I have the Yaqi Katana & Injector razors & DE razors which I occasionally use for my head /dome shaves. I find the pivoting head on the Gillette guard & other cartridge razors go over the contours on my head without fuss. I agree they don't give the same satisfaction of closeness that a DE or SE razor gives, but they work for me, and that's all that counts. If I had to just choose one type of razor for my head shaves it would be my injector razors, as they are very close in blade feel to Cartridge razors.

Sweet!

I have that Gillette stamped head but with the regular 1960s baseplate (and spiral handle) like the blue cased one on the left. I also have a 1950s example with the Gillette diamond stamp on the head but that's a regular 1950s head and baseplate (although oddly there is no ridge on the comb as per the 1950s Techs).

My Gillette stamped and NACET croc stamped 1960s open-comb heads both have the 1960s style diamond baseplate.

That black cased variant is one for the list. Lovely!

A very nice result from the #2 of my Kropp razors, it did not feel as smooth as my #1, although i am not sure if it was poor prep or the edge could do with a refresh?
As i said the result was very good so i cannot complain too much.
Enjoy your day all.
