last night's shave. then shaved this afternoon with the same gear except the razor.



I've had a rotten cold for the last week so wasn't really feeling up to shaving till last night. the old type did really well against the five days stubble. it can be a little aggressive but light touch, short strokes and rinsed often and got a great shave.

for today I used a much milder razor. not close enough but I only remembered afterwards that I decided to only use these blades twice. the ring of death really progressing in the last of a puck of folks bay rum. nice stuff

Usually I go really simple these days.

Tonight it was just a Yaqi Zamac Mellon on a cheap handle, Suneko Amorphous Diamond blade and Mamado Double Strength West Indian Bay Rum and Dalan Olive soap - got a BBS with no fuss.

All of the above was less than £20 - it gets the job done well although when I first joined shaving forums eighteen months ago I pushed the boat out and did a lot of retail therapy.

I don't need a bowl, brush or mirror at my age.

If I have too much choice it's the paralysis of analysis so now I don't get lots of kit out; no need anymore !
