29th May, morning shave

1000023546.jpg

Prep: warm shower
Razor: Fatip Piccolo with open comb plate
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Soap: Ariana and Evans Amber Rose
Post: Alum Block & pure witch hazel
Aftershave: Ariana and Evans Garwood

First go out with this new razor (thanks Sabre et al for the recommendations); figured I'd use a less nippy blade to start with.

Verdict: this razor is a bitey little thing, I could also feel the blade "tugging" rather than cutting (brand new blade). I don't think Astras work for me, so won't get any more. Bit worried about sticking a Feather in this. Results however are fantastic, two passes and it's gone albeit with a few minor weepers. Really like this one...

FYIW I find the same with Feather, bit BIC Chrome (made in Greece) as sharp but way way smoother

Friday 29th May
InjecTR v1 3D + Schick Proline B #3 + Yaqi Heavy Metal + Wickham 1912 Scottish Heather + Williams Aqua Velva AS + Aloe Vera Gel
full

Nice warm shower with Aleppo Soap and Palmolive shower gel

Proraso menthol shave cream. Omega 49 brush

Edwin Jagger De89 Bic chromium blade

Proraso AS plus witch Hazel moisturiser

Everything went perfect today.
I am guessing that, because of the warm weather, the soaps were all up to working temperature.
The Aleppo soap produced lots of lather and the shave cream whipped up into a lovely thick and slick frothy goodness.

I had a most enjoyable shave. One of those classic moments when everything came together. Just an easy glide with absolutely no effort on my part. Just the weight of the Razor and the smoothness of the blade.

Have a fabulous day everyone, wherever you are.

Friday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Williams Mug Shave Soap
Jayaruh #425 Synthetic
Schick Krona
Astra SP Blade
CWR
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Brut After Shave

I started with the cold water rinse. The Williams lathered well with the Jayaruh #425. I did two passes with the Schick Krona razor with a Astra SP Blade. After a cold water rinse, I finished with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Brut After Shave. I am now clean, smooth, and refreshed.

Haslinger Honig Shaving Soap & Muhle Olivewood Pure Bristle
Edwin Jagger DE89G & Treet King (1)

Absolutely lovely shave, that!

I popped a Treet King in for this weekend as a compare and contrast against the new Treet EdgeX that I used last week and my instincts were right - the EdgeX is NOT the King. Both superb blades but polar opposites. The King is smooth ... and sharp enough, while the EdgeX is sharp ... and smooth enough.

For folks wanting a similar smooth experience to the Treet Platinum but from a plain stainless format, that's the King. For folks wanting the bite of the old Trig (Silver Edge) but with modern grind and finishing, that's the EdgeX.

Have a great weekend, guys!

Blue themed. It feels like there's still quite a lot of the tusk gel so guess it will be a while before I finish it by using it sporadically :ROFLMAO:
I've told myself I won't buy any more razors (for now) but have been looking at the Parker adjustable injector...
Good news is that it should cool down next week (y)
Hey, they made blue injectors too!
