Couple of firsts with this shave. Decided to try shaving the head with a DE not the pivoting Natu razor...
Tried to play it safe with the Merkur 41c head as it's fairly mild, but maybe not the best as that combined with struggling to keep a good angle meant it wasn't too close a shave, oh well. Oh, and there was some blood on the back of my head o_O
Maybe my Yaqi Tile might be worth trying

The Palmolive cream performed well & wasn't unpleasant to smell and I didn't know it was green!
Disappointingly, like the green Dr Selby soap, the lather was white though (I want some coloured foamy lather :ROFLMAO: )

@roBertriGer I can relate to the wanting coloured lather. Even with Trumper’s Violet cream (sadly discontinued), you’d get a mostly white lather.

Anyhow, I was in a rush to get out last night and forgot to post yesterday evening’s shave here:

Pre-shave: Face wash with Nivea refreshing wash gel

Razor: Gillette Aristocrat 4th Generation (from No.66 set)

Blade: Gillette Minora Stainless (4)

Brush: Yaqi Mysterious Space Silvertip Badger

Soap: Martin de Candre Vetyver (sample)

Bowl: Ye olde Copper

Post-shave: Aramis Advanced Moisturizing After Shave Balm

First try with the Yaqi Silvertip and very impressed. Softer than the 2 band badger, which I have in the same handle but still very good.

Sunday 29th March

Another outing for the Edwin Jagger 3one6 this time with a Derby Premium #1. I used to use these all the time back in the early days and they're a decent blade. Solid shave with no issues at all. It's a very efficient razor and you can feel the cutting power it has.

This Yaqi synthetic was very handy at whipping up the Captain. Pleased with today's outcome.

Enjoy your week...

Today's shave at 12:05 pm.

Today's shave before the shower was a 10/10, best with my shave soap so far using dial 2 with 0 cuts. I got a true BBS shave, quite rare for me to achieve but is getting more common due to using the Arko shave soap. Today was Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, day 8 top/total shaves.

I used as always unless on a plane or similar deal where I can't deal with own luggage using my Micro Touch One pre Rick Harris endorsed, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable 1960's era unless it breaks or starts failing for daily use, then I use my unknown year backup of Gillette Adjustable 1960's era where the current one if still usable becomes the backup.

I did use Arko in a Harvey & Cavendish tin I have with the cheap Chinese Travel Bush with unbleached Boar hairs. I had a bunch of small tops of hairs lost from the shaving brush. I am still thinking Domestic Boar like a Potbelly Pig for the Boar hair.

I did use the Arko on the lid of the Harvey & Cavendish tin again to build up a soap and I used less soap than I do when trying to get the soap from the stick to lather up and try to grab the lather. This method on the cap also made a better, still thin, but soapy lather then when using just the stick and face. I did rinse off the lid and dry inside off when done so I do not have a sticky or lid that could leak out some soap or suction/stick the lid on that water could do as well. This is currently my shave method outside of shaving during the shower for now until I change tins to a bigger tin or use something else like a secondary bowl for normal use. I also had the lather perfect for the tin's lid due to where I did not need to add more Arko soap just work up a second round for face and chin when I got to them as Arko has a habit of soaking into the skin somedays or getting transparent, that thin really easy.

I also had again the lather perfect for the tin's lid due to where I did not need to add more Arko soap but was lucky and only needed to do the moustache area again as the rest of the soap stayed ontop of the face not soaking into the skin.
