A very nice bit of Sunday Shavette sink time.
Wednesday 1st July...

After the last shave, I felt that the Derby Premium had been tugging and so swapped it out for the sharper RK Pro Edge to see if the comfort improved. It did massively and helped with the ATG too but as I touched up and cleaned up, I caught under my lower lip - an area I have struggled to clear of late.
Mark i rarely use ATG around my mouth/lips (if ever now) i prefer an extra WTG or XTG pass usually clears things up.
I also stretch just under the lip by pushing my tongue against the inside to stretch the skin and lift the stubble.
My 2 pass routine is :-
A full WTG pass, then ATG on my neck and throat with XTG on my Cheeks, Chin and Top lip.
Give it a try it may help, As your confidence grows it becomes a more natural process with fewer nicks.
Enjoy your day all.

Thanks Tony have only just seen this. I almost messaged you during the weekend and should have really. Cheers for the input.

Sunday 5th July...

Moving on to the #2 use of the Derby Extra and for the safety it brings, it definitely comprises on cutting power. There's more pickups to get the job done and it makes the first pass much less efficient. I might go back to using the DE razor to clean up but with a sharper blade in the shavette. I'm going to carry on with a focus on technique but removing some of the pressure of getting all the final bits. Anyways, a definite refining for sure.

A nice clean shave eventually but a lot of work finding all the spots missed.

Enjoy your Sunday...

Bic Chrome Platinum
AP Slim 400 with G5C knot
Frankensoap of leftovers
Witch Hazel
Hattric A/S

Great fun testing and comparing these 2 razors. In a couple of weeks once I've tested the others - Bison, Leaf, Leaf Two, i'll post my thoughts on how they worked for me for head shaving.

Sunday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Williams Mug Shave Soap
Jayaruh #424 Synthetic
Darwin-Stoll Jr. 3D
Personna Gem PTSE Single Edge Blade
CWR
Brut After Shave

I started with the cold water rinse. The Williams lathered well with the Jayaruh #424. I did one quick pass and touch-ups with the Darwin-Stoll Jr. 3D razor with a Personna Gem PTSE Single Edge Blade. After a cold water rinse, I finished with Brut After Shave. I am now clean, smooth, and refreshed.

Dr Selby Luxury Shaving Cream & Muhle Olivewood Pure Bristle
Personna TTO (Vintage) GB & Super Power Super Platinum (3)
Dr Selby After Shaving Cologne

Super week with the Doctor! Superb soap which seems to somehow bridge the gap between traditional hard soaps and modern soft soap as well as bridging between soaps and creams. It really is the best of all worlds.

Super three shaves with this off-brand Super Power Super Platinum, which upon reflection puts me very much in mind of the SuperMax Diamond Edge. While stocks of the Diamond Edge still exist I'd say buy them, but once they're gone this blade could well be a good replacement ... assuming it is not another short-lived label.

Have a great week, fellows!
