Thursday 26th February...

Quite a lot a growth this evening so it felt like a job for the Jewel. The blades are supremely sharp on their first use but they deliver a fabulous shave. Tonight's soap was La Toja - initially I hated it but now it sits in this Proraso pot being used for all sorts of haircut tidying. A very underrated soap.

Goodnight.

Pre-shave: Face wash with Champneys Active face wash

Razor: Ever Ready 1912

Blade: AccuTec Pro Single Edge Blade

Brush: Omega 10098

Cream: Taylor of Old Bond St Eton College

Post-shave: Simpson’s Lime Aftershave Balm

My first try with a single edge razor. Very happy with how it turned out. Not a nick or drop of blood; a drama free shave in 2 passes WTG and ATG.
I can sometimes use a shallow angle using DE razors anyway and aside from some adjustments while shaving due to the difference in the Ever Ready’s geometry, I got into the shave quite quickly. Excellent audio feedback with this razor!

Also tried out the Omega 10098 for the first time. Can see and feel why this brush has fans,

Good work! If you caught my note above, tomorrow is the patent anniversary date for the 1912.

I don't understand how, but the Wee Scot manages to hold enough lather for 2 passes with touch ups. Amazing little brush.
The Genesis always gives a very efficient, very comfortable shave.
Enjoy your day all.

Friday's Cold Water Shave
Fat February

Cold Water Rinse
Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap
Jayaruh #292 HMW Badger
Gem Open Comb Damaskeene
Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Duru Cologne

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #292 HMW Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Open Comb Damaskeene razor and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Duru Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Pre shave: Hot shower and Neutrogena glycerin soap bar
Razor: Gillette 195 Adjustable (7)
Blade: Feather (6)
Brush: Captain Fawcett Synthetic V
Soap: Glasgow soap company Iron Brew
Post shave: Nivea men sensitive cool post shave balm

Yet another perfect shave from the 195 paired with a feather blade.
It blitzed through 2 days of growth for 3 effortless passes.

The Glasgow soap co shaving soap provided some excellent glide paired with the Glycerin pre shave prep, making even the ATG pass a breeze.

Finished off with the always superb sensitive cool balm from nivea.

I've used the Fatboy quite a few times now and although it's function and performance is exactly comparable to the Slim, I have found myself preferring the chunkier handle and slightly more weighty feel.

Hope you all have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend.
