A beautiful shave today with my 1st Kampfe courtesy of our very own @Jayaruh, i used my Henckels blade in it and it was as smooth as silk. 2 full passes and some touch up for a very nice, close, comfortable finish.
"somebody on here Jayaruh uses the Kampfe Brothers/Star, that is the oddest shaver, his model from 1902." "The problem is trying to find new blades or find something that will work for the shaver as 90% of the blades are missing with the shaver."
FYI @Casey 1988 these razors can be used with modern blades and give just as good results.

The set up above has a 3d printed "wedge" under the GEM blade to emulate the original blade angle or you can use a spine from an old GEM blade to do the same, also a rubber band fitted to the back of the blade can also give smooth results.
Enjoy your day all.

Really curious about the booster aftershave! Is it good? How strong is the perfume? Does anyone know how to get online (shipping to UK)?

Thursday's Cold Water Shave
Fat February

Cold Water Rinse
Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap
Jayaruh #292 HMW Badger
Gem Open Comb Damaskeene
Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Duru Cologne

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #292 HMW Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the C.V. Heljestrand Lather Catcher razor and the Heljestrand Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Duru Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Today at 5:45 to 5:58 Pm

Today's shave before the shower was 10/10.
I used dial 4 with 0 cuts. I got about a 0.5 up from BBS shave on entire face. Today was Personna USA 100 pack 2017, day 2 bottom, 18 total shaves. I did go back for a touchup on the moustache area done dry for the small bit.

I used as always my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable 1960's era.

I used Arko in a Harvey & Cavendish tin I have with the cheap Chinese Travel Bush with Boar brush where I had 1 hair falling so in terms of hair loss it was 1, 0, then 3, then another 3, 5, then 5, again 5, yet again 5, still another 5, 10, 12--15, 5, 10--15, 10--15, 10--15, 10--15, 20--25, 15--20, and finally on day one 40--50 in order from day one. The brush was kind of overpacked with hair inside the brush part that was kind of stiff on the first 3 uses before the hairs softened up but has softened up to the right amount at around 8--10 shaves and seems to be staying there or close enough to that for shaving. I did have to add some more Arko to the moustache area due to the weather 2 times to the moustache going in two layers and another time once to another face part as it dried out. I did go kind of thick with the soap.

Keeping this up for the month of February:
Those in the USA looking for a cheap travel brush that uses Boar/ unbleached, most likely domestic boar given the softness of bush head that is not Badger or synthetic soft that they do not need to worry about the loss of during travel. They might have the same Brush on Your Countries Amazon a similar model like this.

Today at 6:30 to 6:44 am

Today's shave before the shower was 9/10.
I used dial 4 with 2 cuts, one on chin and other on neck in the mini side and if I had not skipped more then one day shave I would be using a 1 dial up at shave 5. I got about a 0.5 up from BBS shave on entire face. Today was Personna USA 100 pack 2017, day 3 bottom, 19 total shaves. I do know I might have to end this blade earlier due to the skipping of shaves but who knows as I have been mostly only missing a day between shaves. I did go back for a quick touchup no shaving cream on the chin on the face as well as the lower lip area.

I used as always my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable 1960's era.

I used Arko in a Harvey & Cavendish tin I have with the cheap Chinese Travel Bush with Boar brush where I had 1 hair falling so in terms of hair loss it was 1, another 1, 0, then 3, then another 3, 5, then 5, again 5, yet again 5, still another 5, 10, 12--15, 5, 10--15, 10--15, 10--15, 10--15, 20--25, 15--20, and finally on day one 40--50 in order from day one. Eventually I am just going to stop counting but not until the blade I am using is done.
I did the Arko to the moustache area later knowing the shave was going to take some time due to the number of days skipped but I also had to add Arko to another part just because the soap had soaked in.

I did use my more liquid hand sanitizer with adding as refill rubbing alcohol to have a type aftershave that has a little bit of the Coors Banquet beer in as the smell adding in more as needed of the Coors Banquet (not Coors light) to keep it from smelling stale/when the beer starts mixing in too much with the liquid hand sanitizer/rubbing alcohol mix.

Thursday 26/02/2026 - Ever Ready take 1

Pre-shave: Face wash with Champneys Active face wash

Razor: Ever Ready 1912

Blade: AccuTec Pro Single Edge Blade

Brush: Omega 10098

Cream: Taylor of Old Bond St Eton College

Post-shave: Simpson’s Lime Aftershave Balm

My first try with a single edge razor. Very happy with how it turned out. Not a nick or drop of blood; a drama free shave in 2 passes WTG and ATG.
I can sometimes use a shallow angle using DE razors anyway and aside from some adjustments while shaving due to the difference in the Ever Ready’s geometry, I got into the shave quite quickly. Excellent audio feedback with this razor!

Also tried out the Omega 10098 for the first time. Can see and feel why this brush has fans,
