The gold insert case was 61-63.

Technically I should have a red insert case for this 66 but I've always preferred the look of the gold and the case itself was a bit of a steal, sold with a mixed lot.
Yeah, that Rose Gold looks off to me too. At least this is not the last years run of the 1960's adjustable model where I am seeing on e-Bay, a number of the final run are using the early blue case for the Super Adjustable for the final year as there was a switch over to this case before halting production after the 2nd trimester in 1968.

Sunday evenings still have that dreaded “back to school tomorrow” feel to them for me. As I have a shaving cream sharing a name with one of our famous schools (and I’ve set myself a target to try and use it up this year), TOBS Eton College seemed fitting for a Sunday evening shave. I was going to dig out a Slim but thought an Aristocrat was in order (Eton having an association with the British Aristocracy and all).

I believe this is a No. 22 set from the 1950s. Very minimal blade feel but it’s a fairly efficient razor. Lovely to look at too.

Haven’t used a Gillette Minora blade in a while. I remember them being similar to Nacets. After using synthetic brushes for my last few shaves it felt good to get a little bit of scratchy badger hair. I do like this Simpson brush a lot. Although I did use the trusted copper bowl, I did a half bowl and half face lather, to get the full experience of this brush. I definitely pick up on mandarin notes with the Eton College cream. As a result I raided the fruit bowl as the Simpson’s lime balm dried off.

Enjoy what’s left of the weekend and the week ahead!

Very pleasant 2 pass n touch up shave today for nice BBS, the razor was superb smooth and efficient and paired with the SV, no issues, not a lot on Forums re the Carbon but excluding my Iwasaki Kamisori, it could/may be by No 1 razor? Mmh not sure if there’s such a thing though?

Cold Water Rinse
Derby Menthol Shave Cream
Jayaruh #277
Darwin-Stoll Jr. 3D
Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Mennen Skin Bracer AS

The Derby Menthol Shave Cream face-lathered well with Jayaruh #277 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Darwin-Stoll Jr. 3D razor and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Enjoyed the Arko soap, how are they so cheap? Queue pissy reference from @SpeedyPC :ROFLMAO: On another note I feel that I’ve finally mastered the Blackbird following a video the lads at Blackland put up on YouTube, quality unit that requires an odd technique that you wouldn’t suit other razors. I now no longer require the lite plate, winner!

Pre Shave: Face wash / T&H Pre-Shave Oil
Soap: Arko Shave Bowl
Brush: Runeman Tye Dye Boti Badger
Razor: Blackland Blackbird Polished
Blade: PAA Platinum Strangelet Super Sharps
Post UV Shave: TN Dickinson Witch Hazel / Trumper’s Eau de Cologne / Floris No89 Aftershave Balm

Scottish Fine Soaps (c.2000s?) Shaving Soap & Boots (Vintage) Pure Bristle
Gillette Sensor (Chrome) & Gillette Sensor 3 (1)
DR Harris Pink Aftershave

Kicking off the third week of this holy month of Fat February with the very fine historical Scottish Fine Soaps. The brush may look like an Omega, but it is a vintage Boots ... circa late-1980s from what I can best guess. I also got a wooden handled brush about the same time which bears a striking resemblance to the Omega 11137 so we might have an insight there into who supplies the handles to Omega. FWIW Boots sourced these from China/Taiwan.

The Sensor cartridge is from the disposable, which is surprisingly easy to separate from the handle:

... and fit onto your preferred Sensor handle.
