IMG_0049.pngBit of a late one tonight but ended up going for it after tooting & frowing i decided to go with the wonderful soap which i don’t use enough infact Pinnacle Grooming is not a soap i hear much of on here which is a shame as its superb
My wife actually bought this one on her birthday lol hence the Aquarius he birthday is february.
Pinnacle do all the star signs.
The razor is one i haven’t used in a while either yet i really enjoy the novelty of them & they shave well.
I don’t know why but i always seem to get on very well with platinum blades it really seems to be a thing for me unless it’s coincidental.

Greetings,

A new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend...

For my August shaving Focus I will be using the Arko & Derby shave sticks along with my humble boar brushes. For my face shaves will be revisiting the Indian made Parker 22R TTO & 24C open comb & razors paired together with the Russian made Voskhod Teflon Coated DE blades that I haven't added to my blade rotation for some time, and for my head/dome shaves I will carry on with the Wilkinson sword extreme 3 Pivoting Head Cartridge Razor.

It's been some time since I last added the Parker 24C open-comb to my razor rotation and forgot how smooth & efficient it is. Out of all my parker DE razor collection the 24C performs wonderfully by using a steeper shaving angle due to the curvature of the razor head which is the opposite to the rest of my other Parker DE razors it also take's a few shaves to adjust to I also find my TTO models to be more efficient than the three piece models, this is definitely the case with the 24C open comb.

The Voskhod Teflon Coated/Parker 24C duo provided me with an efficient close comfortable acceptable smooth face shave. The Voskhod TC is a good blade match for the Parker 24C.

A comfortable Turkish themed face & head shave with no errors to report to start the first weekend of August 2026 wonderfully.

Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Yelken Lemon Eau De Cologne.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Today's shave:

LzHmW.jpg

- Lather Mafia Batik
- Zenith Manchurian
- 3ONE6 with Feather blade
- Capucci Blue Water aftershave

Aleppo Soap
Palmolive Shower Gel
Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream
Proraso Red Croap
Omega 10049 Boar Brush
Merkur 34c DE Razor
Personna Blue blade
Edwin Jagger De89
Gillette Nacet blade
Brut / witch Hazel moisturiser concoction
Old Spice classic

A bit of alchemy going on today!!

Saturday morning and I have a generous 4 days beard growth to sort out.

First, a nice warm shower with plenty of Aleppo Soap and Palmolive Shower Gel. A good scrubbing works wonders.

Onto the shave.

I am using up some dregs from the back of the cupboard.
A good tub whisk of the proraso red produced a fine lather. I then transferred that to a bowl and added in the remains of a tube of Palmolive classic cream. Beautiful slik creamy lather a la "Monsieur Whippie".

For the 1st pass WTG I used the Merkur 34c with the Personna blade. Fantastic. So slik and smooth.

2nd pass I switched to the Jagger De89 with the Nacet blade. I love these blades, don't know why they should be so special but everytime I use one of them it feels like a special occasion. Absolute luxury of a shave. The blade just glided across my face. Never felt or heard a thing.

End result, after applying some Brut Witch Hazel after shave mix, is just the smoothest shave that I have had for some time.

Goes to show that preparation counts for an awful lot. Some days if I am in a rush then my shave is "meh, so so" but today it was just perfect.

Enjoy the weekend everyone. Be careful with the BBQ.

Myrsol Don Carlos 1972

This Feather blade has lasted very well in my 39c. I remember not so long ago getting three shaves at best, but the recent 39c is a milder razor than it used to be and for me this combination works really well. The Wickham soap is excellent as is the dense Chubby 2 and I finished the shave with a good splash of Don Carlos. A great start to the weekend.

Soap - Proraso Sandalwood cream
Brush - Omega 11137 boar
Razor - Muhle R89 Twist
Blade - Rapira Stainless (2)
Balm - Proraso Sandalwood
Aftershave - Sierran Breeze (Superdrug)

Another nice shave. I feel as though I should use something I don’t like, just to make this interesting - but I haven’t! Great lather, good brush, brilliant razor and blade and nice lotions! Smooth comfortable shave. Boring…
…sorry - maybe next time!
