Williams Wednesday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Williams Mug Shave Soap
Jayaruh #425 Synthetic
Schick C Repeater
Personna Injector
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Classic Old Spice After Shave

This is my third shave at our new home in Simpsonville. We will do the big move Saturday.

The Williams Mug Shave Soap here face-lathered well with Jayaruh #425 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick C Repeater razor and the Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Classic Old Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Imperial Leather (Vintage) Shaving Soap & Boots (Vintage c.1980s?) Pure Bristle
Lord L6 & Big Ben Platinum (3)
Imperial Leather (Vintage) Aftershave

Third shave on the Big Ben Platinum was the best giving a simply straight-up smooth as you like shave while the assessment after the first pass proved continued efficiency of the blade. Regrowth after the last couple of shaves was uniform showing good balance to the blade across each side. While the overall in-shave experience is akin to the Blue Sword Platinum, I feel this is a premium blade (it's certainly in their premium packagaing) and it is a third style, distinct from the Lord Platinum and the Shark Platinum.

Soap - Canada Shaving Soap
Brush - Yaqi Cashmere
Razor - Flat Bottom Tech on Yaqi Handle
Blade - Gillette 365 (2)
AS - Old Spice

The penultimate shave of Artisan April, and another cracking lather from Canada Shaving Soap. I was somewhat underwhelmed with this particular lather the first few times I used but now that I have dialled in the right amount of hydration for it, it's quickly becoming one of my favs. I really like the 365 too, it seems to go under the radar but I think it might be one of the better blades Gillette makes.

IMG_8199.jpegI have to admit i’m lost my mojo a bit just now
Shaving has been a chore and whilst at work i sometimes can’t muster a shave once a week sometimes more
however when im home which i am just now things are different although not back to normal or should i say as normal as i would like it.
I guess work gets in the way then it takes its toll on getting back to where i once was.
Having said that im definitely feeling better im getting to urge to shave daily or every other day which is good.
Can’t keep a good man down.
Tonight’s shave was 2 passes of luxurious lather,
i never have any issues with anything B&M it’s absolutely top drawer soap.
Unfortunately i’m still not getting the synthetic brushes,
I use them now & again but i just can’t take to them like i do the others.

Greetings,

Early morning Shave,

A close comfortable shave to finish the month off on a high with no errors to report.

My highlight of the month has been my reacquaintance with the Baili BD 177 & Dorco Prime Platinum duo, which have provided me with close comfortable acceptable face & head shaves what more can ask for.

For my May focus I will be using the Ming Shi 2000s Futur & R41 Chinese Clone Razors for face shaves. For my head/dome shaves I will continue to use the Baili BD 177, with the addition of the Baili BD 191 all paired together with the Dorco Prime Platinum & Treet platinum DE blades.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous splash of Brut Original ASL.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Finally..... At last, since I've been into spinal rehabilitation on the 12th January for at least three months.

I'm finally going home next Friday 8th of May, so I need at least a week or two to settle into my unit first, and then I have a lot of planning, which I'm not going to be very happy. I prefer not to talk about it, so just leave it at that.

The Wilkinson Sword cream seemed a bit more cloggy in the razor today, wasn't aware I was using particularly more of it or less water than in recent shaves with it.
These big Proraso bottles sure do last a long time (y)
Would you say Proraso red smells 'powdery'? I'm not really sure what that means when people describe something like that but it feels correct but maybe it's the sandalwood (not sure how that is meant to smell either:ROFLMAO:)

Dug out my vintage Gillette TTO speed change razor and gave it another try. Not very successful before, probably trying too hard.
Paired it up with a Gillette Silver Blue.

The issue I have with it is the weight, it is so light compared to modern razors.

I let the blade do the work. Just gentle strokes. Not too bad at all.

I used TFS croap and whipped up a pretty decent lather.

Not totally sure that I will become a "vintage fan". I did it all first time around in the 1960s.
I think that I prefer modern kit.
